Her mother was a nurse. My father was out of school and helped his mother around the shop that she owned. That I wasnt surrendered until July 26 1967 and that I was not turned over to my adoptive parents until the 31st of August 1967. The adoption was not finanlized until August 12 1968. My mothers family catholic and strict. She also had siblings with the youngest being a boy and with some type of handicap. Once I was surrendered to my adoptive parents we lived in St. Clair County of Illinois. I have been waiting for info from catholic charities of Indianapolis for several weeks now---I believe that my mother was 17 when she had me which would put her in her early 50's. I have the largest, blackest whole right in the center of me that I have never been able to fill and desparetly need it to be. So if anyone out there has suggestions or comments or has any clues---PLEASE let me know. Thanks for all your help and support and I wish everyone the best of luck in their searchs! Have you registered w/Mary Hinds for the Indiana registry?
You can write a letter to the court who handled the adoption, asking the judge to open your file totally to you. I did, and got my late husband's opened fully to us. My Leslie/Lesley Ann Weaver was an only child, gradauted from H.S., did a year at Purdue, then met a guy from Iraq who was working on his Ph.D. here in the States. He's the birthfather. |
