BF NAME RICHARD OR **** DALE, HALF OR FULL BLOOD INDIAN, IN SOUTHERN CA IN EARLY 1960'S, WAS MARRIED WITH 2 CHILDREN AT THAT TIME, BIRTH MOTHER'S NAME GERTRUDE "GERT" WARD AT THAT TIME, MOVED OUT TO CA FROM GA TO LIVE WITH SISTER AND BRO-IN-LAW, MET **** DALE, WORKED CONSTRUCTION THEN

just a thought...

Have you tried to find out about the Indian Child Welfare Act?? Don't know if that's exactly the name of the provision, but there is a provision out there that if you have a certain percentage of Indian heritage, you can use that in defense of opening your original adoption records. You may want to post under the Legal board on this site and see if you get any feedback from the experts (there are supposed to be 3, I think). Worth a shot...also check out the "Search Guru's" postings; she has great info on organizing and moving a search forward.

I don't believe my BF was a part of the adoption decision, let alone the process. I will search the guru for info tho. Thank you for responding to my posting. If you think of any thing else that might help feel free to let me know

I'm just in the process of obtaining the non-id info from CA. I'm hoping so.
