A Visit!

I've been scared to "say it" out loud for fear of plans changing or inclement weather (as happens in the winter). But, as of today, the forecast looks fine (*knocking on wood*) leaving the window open.

Nick, Parker and I will leave for a six and a half hour drive after Nick gets out of preschool on Thursday. We won't arrive until after bedtime but I didn't want to actually lose a day of a visit by driving on Friday. I'm somewhat nervous driving to a place I've never been by myself (Josh can't come with us) with both boys. I've never done more than a three hour car ride with two children. Should be interesting (but good preparation for our vacation this summer when we drive 12).

I haven't seen the Munchkin in just over 18 months. There has been communication, obviously, but no visit. The large majority of that was out of any one person's control. In the process, a lot has changed in all of our lives. As an example, Parker was born and turned one. Nick is now a very verbal three year old. And things on their side. It's going to be a very different dynamic.

I'm excited. And nervous. Munchkin has a lot of questions as of late and I'm a bit scared I won't handle them perfectly. I'm actually afraid I'm just going to be so overwhelmed by her presence that I'll be struck mute. But, knowing me, that's unlikely.

Anyway, I just needed to share.

You will do just fine...you have a loving kind nature that will make it all work out.

Just make sure you have enough games, books etc so you won't be frazzled at the end of the drive.

Will be there for you in spirit, just breathe.

Take care and drive safe,
Dickons

Wink Stay well, and the spirits will guide you....

Schmenna, I have tried to follow along with your journey, now for 7 months. You are a strong , capable , loving Mom, you will do more than fine. The trip will flow easily, other than a few times the kids may get restless, most times just a quick walk, and snack handles this. I know you will know, exactly what to do when you see her...for real love does not need coaching, nor does it require preparing. This will be, just another great adventure in your journey. I send this with Blessings, and will keep my fingers crossed, for a safe trip. My son often tells me, that if I worry too much about the what if's...I will fail to enjoy the nows! Prayers for you and your munchkin( of course I include the boys! C.J.
