Question from an AMom
Hi there! I have two young boys (ages 4 and 6) and we are in an open adoption. Since our boys are in preschool and KG they do tons of wonderful little projects throughout the year. I would like to share them with our sons bmoms so they are able to see the great school work they do and how they progress...
Is this something that you'd like to receive (I'm pretty sure the answer will be yes)? Also, what do you think is a better idea - sending the things a bit at a time (like maybe once a month) or saving the pages throughout the school year, and binding them in a book at the end of the year to "present" to the bmoms (this is what the school does for parents - gives them a book of their "best" work at the end of the year, with a questionaire the kids fill out each year with their favorite books, colors, tv shows, etc). Thanks for the advice! |

Oooh! Either one would be great!!! The idea of getting to see some necklace my DD made out of macaroni or a drawing she did would be so wonderful!
So the answer (as you expected) is definitely definitely definitely give your sons birthmothers some of these treasures!!! And as for in what form, I would be so pleased to receive them either way!

Thanks! At first I thought I'd send a few a month so they could see the progression, but then I figured they'd be soo bogged down with paperwork/art that it would be better to condense it into one package. |

Oh I love to get these little treats. Amom used to send them to me at Christmas, but I think it's a great idea to spread them out a bit. I actually have a few that I would like to get framed. They resemble some interesting modern art.

When I was a kid, I really didn't understand why my parents made such a big deal about the handmade gifts that I gave them. I knew that I had worked hard on them, but they just weren't as nice (in my mind) as something I would have bought, but couldn't afford. When I was a kid, I thought these handmade gifts were second best.
I FINALLY understood when I was given a project that my birthdaughter made. It is one of the most precious, most touching gifts that I have ever gotten in my entire life. Now I understand why my parents made such a big deal about those little things. Basically, what I'm saying is definately give your children's birthparents some of those treasures. |

A little or a lot I wouldn't mind. I would just love to get anything that she had done.

Yes. And little things throughout the year.
Munchkin's Mom sends me things on random occasion. (And Nick sends back coloring pages at this point in his development.)

Thank you guys for the great gift idea! My kids first mom tends to lose things, and now I think I am going to put some artwork into an album for her as one of her Christmas gifts......
