Yeah, I asked her Mom if it would be alright if I sent it to her as a birthday present and she said that would be great so hopefully I can get it and send it to her (or even better give it to her in person!!!)

Thanksgivingmom- It cracks me up that you are going to steal a present for the babe! I love it. It's great that she is going to get the traditional baby gift, even if your grandma doesn't know it...

It's looking like I won't be able to make the trip to see my bdaughter and her family over the holidays this year. This will be the second time in 12 years that we haven't had a visit. The first time I was on the other side of the world and it would have been pretty impossible. This time, I could if I was willing to spend the money on a plane ticket, but I just built a house and am planning a wedding and feel like I shouldn't take the trip. I just saw them in October and I know I'll be seeing them in June. I haven't even thought about sending gifts yet...I should get on that.

Now, now, steal is such a harsh word...haha! I KNOW she would get one if I asked though, so I don't feel THAT bad about it...and I just want her to have one so bad!

Forgot to write what I got the Munch: a beading/jewelry kit (Melissa & Doug brand; totally cute) because she's way into jewelry right now and loves little things. (Cleared it with D first that JD wouldn't get to and eat the beads.) An AA doll. And two outfits. (One outfit + one toy = birthday. One outfit + one toy = Christmas.)

I also send JD gifts for birthday and Christmas. D & I exchange something small.

HUGS Free - that's got to be hard not being able to visit this year, but I'm sure they will understand. Gifts are good. Any thoughts on what you'll buy?

I really don't know if I can go through with not having a visit...I am already thinking about maybe having a February visit...I don't know if I can wait until June.

As far as gifts go, I know I will get P at least one book. She is an avid reader and I love getting her books that I used to read. Last year for Christmas she asked for a book. I asked her what kind and she said "A big fat one." She'll read pretty much anything.

Other than that, I really don't have any fresh creative ideas. I'll figure something out, though...

TGM-you know, you are turning the baby into a criminal too! Possession of stolen property? Ha Ha!

She is 12 1/2

...she really likes fantasy books, Eragon, Harry Potter...She is reading at an adult reading level, but not quite ready for some adult themes...

I'm going to the book store today so I'll keep my eye open for any books in that category that might be appropriate.
