If parents give their child up for adoption, What rights to that child will they have.

Well, I'm not sure what your specific question about rights might be here, but from what I understand, once the parents place their child for adoption and the adoption is finalized then legally they don't really have any legal rights to their child anymore.

After I placed both my daughters, I no longer had legal rights to them. I also did what's called semi-open adoption where we continue contact through letters and pictures for the most part, but our relationships have opened up more than originally planned to include exchanging presents and home movies etc. more often. It may still open up more, but that's what I have at present.

I think some of the rights might have to do with the laws of your state or rather if you do an open adoption or not. I know in some states you can have a legally binding open adoption agreement, which would give you some rights to visit and be part of your child's life.

There are others here who know more about this than I do who should be able to help, but in most cases after you place a child and the adoption is finalized you no longer have legal rights unless you do a legally binding open adoption agreement, which is only available in some states.

well I live in tennesse but I am not sure what the laws regaurding parents who give their child adoption are, and everytime I look I get a headache and never find what I am looking for. please help!!!!
