Glad the appointment went well.
Just a few tips for you as you write the letter: - don't expect perfection from yourself or the letter - write out in point form all the points you want to cover in the letter - RELAX!!! Whatever you write will be and is going to be great. If you ever send it (which I don't think you have to) I know D and Munchkin will treasure it.

I still haven't sat down with paper yet. I'm still mulling things.
It's a hard topic, really. It's quite daunting.

I think I need to go to the store tonight, once Josh is home, and find a really nice notebook. And a good pen. Seriously. If I have to write by hand, it's GOT to be with a good pen. I'm picky.
And then I need to come home, brew a pot of tea and just start writing. I think that's what I'll do.
