What was your fave show when you were little?

When you were little, what was your favorite TV show(s) and/or movie(s)?

Do you still like those show(s) or movie(s)? Like me, I use to watch "The Polka Dot Door" - now I wouldn't be able to stand it lol. I loved movies like "The Last Unicorn" and "Labryinth" and I still do so what about you?

I was only allowed to watch Scooby Doo and PBS. There was this pirate show on PBS about letters... I don't know the name, just know I loved it. And of course Scooby Doo, which I still watch.

1-4-2009 Mom and I visit Kiddo despite the bad weather. He really loved the blue mittens I made him and even helped me plan my living room. Apparently Hot Wheels wallpapper is the way to go.
2-16-2009 I got a promotion, that comes with a raise. Mom and Dad are visiting and we're going to Al's for pie to celebrate.
4-27-2009 Dad surprises me with a Lady Ugly Stick (an awesome fishing rod that is pink) and a 2nd Iowa Light Artillery Battery jacket. I'm a lucky girl!
5-30-2009 Kiddo turns five. It is hard to believe he is that old already, it seems like just yesterday he was being born. I was at peace for the first time on his birthday, what a nice feeling.
6-13&14 2009 A cannon live fire in Casper WY. We got third place and I got to see Devil's Tower for the first time, it was pretty awesome.
7-4-2009 Amelia the kitten comes to live with me and Liz. Talk about jealousy, Liz will adjust though.

I LOVED that Brenda!!

Actually to be completely honest, I LOVED all TV. My parents tried to limit watching but I think it backfired...

Brenda, lol, I think I know exactly how old you are - Lost in Space was my little brother's favorite TV show!

Hmm...let me think. Okay, my very favorite television show when I was a little girl was Timmy and Lassie. It came on every Sunday evening right before Disney, at 6:30 p.m. (Disney was my 2nd favorite show). My dad and I had kind of a ritual we'd go thru. He'd yell out, "Raven, that dumb dog is coming on the TV." And I'd run into the living room, feigning righteous indignation. "Lassie is NOT a dumb dog, Daddy!"

I also loved Father Knows Best - I always sat on my dad's lap, and we'd watch it together.

Another favorite was Leave It to Beaver.

Ok...at the risk of being stoned to death, I have to say what I DIDN'T like.

I could not STAND Shirley Temple...UGH!

When I was very little, Sunday mornings were the worst for tv viewing.

There was Abbott and Costello (which I loved!), then Mickey Rooney (which I hated), Three Stooges (YIKES) and Shirley Temple...

I also didn't like Little House on the Prairie or I Love Lucy.

I LOVED Family Affair, though, and the Brady Bunch.

I LOVED I Love Lucy, Lost In Space and Petticoat Junction (I'm really aging myself). Liked Brady Bunch, the show with the uncle, 2 nieces and nephew, and later: Facts of Life, Charlie's Angels, Mary Tyler Moore, the list goes on and on.

MamaS - Was Miss Frances Ding-Dong School the one where she held up a magic looking glass at the end of the show? She'd call out the names of all the little boys and girls who were watching the show. I kept glued to that show every day when I was about 4 or 5. She finally called out my name, and I was sooo elated!

I liked the Lone Ranger, too...also Zorro and Roy Rogers.

Ok - so this isn't a show from when I was little, per se (well, high school and a bit later).

But since quantum shared, I'll share my guilty pleasure...

I LOVE Roseanne. In fact, it's one of the 2 shows set to record on my DVR. There. My humiliation is complete.

By the way quantum, I don't know if you're only "old school" Star Trek, but have you seen the previews for the new movie? I am SO not a fan, but this actually looks pretty decent!

Sstuart, I still watch Green Acres on TVLand. The theme song sticks in my head for days. When I first moved up here to the mountains of Northern California, I used to sing that song all the time...drove my partner insane, lol.

Green Acres, by Vic Mizzy

Green acres is the place for me.
Farm livin' is the life for me.
Land spreadin' out so far and wide
Keep Manhattan, just give me that countryside.

New York is where I'd rather stay.
I get allergic smelling hay.
I just adore a penthouse view.
Dah-ling I love you but give me Park Avenue.

...The chores.
...The stores.
...Fresh air.
...Times Square

You are my wife.
Good bye, city life.
Green Acres we are there.

OK, I'm dating myself here big-time, but I liked a number of shows. For cartoons, it was The Flintstones, Woody Woodpecker, Bugs Bunny and Road Runner. Much to my mom's chagrin, I also just HAD to watch The Three Stooges and I also liked the old Our Gang Comedy, which was renamed Little Rascals. I was in looooove with David Cassidy, so I had to watch The Partridge Family, and also really liked The Brady Bunch. Every Saturday night, it was The Mary Tyler Moore Show and The Carol Burnett Show. This thread brings back lots of memories!

That was Romper Room!!!

I am sorta jumping in here, being that I am an adoptee....but my favorites as a child were the Smurfs, Strawberrry Shortcake, Gummi Bears, and Fraggle Rock.
