Hi all. Even though I have posted on the "adoptee" boards, I wanted to cover all my bases. Thanks!
I am an adoptee born July 9, 1972, in Grayling, Michigan to a Susan Fitzgerald. It is believed that she moved to Florida after having me and giving me up for adoption. MY adoption was finalized in New York, so this makes some aspects of retrieving information difficult, unfortunately...
I have Susan's mother's name as well : Eleanor Allan, which is weird because my name is Elinor!!! Amazing, eh?
I also just found out that i actually had a name given to me at birth: Nicole Marie Fitzgerald.
As of right now this is all the information I have.

Elinor... I just looked up your ID on the reunion registry on this website and didn't find any matches. You might want to consider filling out a profile for the registry.

My daughter filled out a profile on my behalf in 2000, and my son (who I surrendered in 1971) filled out a profile in 2005 but my daughter's contact info had changed by then. I found his profile in Jan 2007, and we've been in reunion since then.

Three pieces of advice:
1. Post your profile everywhere possible.
2. Keep a notebook of where you have posted.
3. Update your contact information if it changes.

Elinor... you did fill out a profile for posting on the forums. That is different than the profile for the reunion registry. Here's how to access it:

Go to the purple menu bar at the top of this screen, select "reunite" and drop down to "reunion registry."
That page will have a button on the left side, "Click here to register." Just fill out the profile information and your info will be added to the data base.

On the right side of the page, you will see the "form" I used to search for your info. All one has to do is enter the date of birth, gender and state the adoption took place, and then hit search. There are a couple of other search options as well.

That is how I found my son's profile ...just those three pieces of information.

thanks for your help an patience; i do have a profile on the registry.. i always had one.. i updated it yesterday, though, so... maybe that will help! Thanks!!
