She Called Me Mom!

My daughter called me Mom!!!!

I'm sure you're all imagining a tiny little baby calling me Mom for the first time but...it's actually my 23 year old daughter!

You see we had lunch yesterday, and this time I brought my hubby and her two younger sisters (14 & 2). It was the first time they had all met and only the second time her and I had gotten together...and it was wonderful, so many thoughts and emotions spilling into my head...but to make a long story very short...my teenager emailed her this morning and in the reply my eldest called me MOM! She didn't use my first name, she didn't say to her sister "your mom" she said MOM! Plain and simple...MOM!

My heart is so full right now...I AM Mom!

Wow...

3 little words....

How does 3 little words that most people take for granted hearing, send us soaring through the clouds??????

My bson hasn't called me mom in front of others yet but I remember the first time he said " I love you, mom" during our 1st f2f. I never expected to hear that from him, so it took me by surprise. But It was such a great surprise!

I know exactly what you are feeling. I hope the feeling lasts forever for you!!!!

Kathy

Thank you Kathy, I only dream of the day when I'll hear those same 3 little words...how powerful words can be!

Congrats on your reunion!

That is so very cool, MrsHoot! I remember the first time my then 18-year-old son called me "Mom". It's etched in my memory forever. And I remember how my heart just had this swelling feeling, like it would overrun with joy.

Congratulations on your daughter "coming home" to your heart...
