Seeking birthmoms/firstmoms to tell their story for Redbook

Thanks to Crick for giving me permission to post this request in this forum!

I'm a freelance writer (and also a mom via domestic infant open adoption), and I write pretty regularly for Redbook. My editor has asked me to do several articles for a feature package on adoption, which will include both "service boxes" (informational pieces about aspects of adoption) and personal stories, in an "as told to" format. (In other words, I'll interview the person and then write the story as in their own words.)

So I am seeking several adoptive moms to tell their stories for this piece. I posted on a couple of other forums a few weeks ago, and we found several great people to contribute; now my editor has another couple of requests. One is that they are looking for a birthmom/first mom in open adoption to tell her story They're in a rush--they want to know by Thursday!

The only thing is that you'd have to be comfortable having your real name used and having a family picture published. You should be in an ongoing open relationship with your child and the adoptive family--other than that, there aren't a lot of specific parameters.

If you think you might be interested, then please PM me or e-mail me privately (at ginadcnj@gmail.com) and tell me a little bit about yourself and your family. Thanks so much!

Gina

Bumping for interest.

Gina; I posted something brief on the Chronicles blog and will do a longer-short write up on the birth/first parent blog in the morning. So, don't make any final decisions until you see that post live on the blog.

As for birth parents who are reading this and wondering if Gina is legit: she is. I've been corresponding with her for a few weeks now. I have the personal feeling that she will handle this particular part of the article with the sensitive touch that a complex topic like this deserves and requires. I feel confident in vouching for her ability to handle such a task.

Now that you have the Jenna stamp of approval, send your e-mails to Gina.
