First Parents Get Together?

I was thinking - wouldn't it be awesome to have a first parents get together thing...

Not a convention or anything - no 'educational' value at all - just a bunch of us together in one place for a day or two - chatting about adoption and having fun?

If there was such a thing, would you go?

I would definitely come! It would be nice to have some F2F contact with other bmom's. Is this something you may try and put together Brandy?

I would love something like that, and I would definitely go. I don't know any other bmoms personally, so sometimes it is hard. These forums are my only way to really vent and feel that I'm making sense.

I was thinking about doing something, if we could get enough people - of course, not "Adoption.com" related - just a 'first parents gala' of some sort...

Some place where you can fly cheap and stay fairly cheap...like Vegas.

That'd be awesome...and if enough people wanted to come, we could do bulk rate rooms.

I think you have a great idea, Brandi!! There are really good deals on airlines and such to "vacation spots" such as Vegas, certain cities in FL, NYC, etc. I hope others support your idea and you can come up with something!

I really can't do anything like that in 2007. High risk and all. That said, I'd be interested in another time!

Maybe we could all come to Ohio and crash at your place instead Jenna.

Make it a 'Baby Shower/Get Together' - but watch out...you know, we can't be trusted around children unsupervised

I am on an email list for bmoms.

Two of us live one block from each other.

We had a get together with 30 of the ladies on the list, from all over the west coast some years ago.

One year ago, 10 of us met up in Victoria Canada and went to high tea at the hotel. We had an entire weekend. One lady had traveled from New York, one from Arizona, and 2 from BC and the rest from WA state.

We have been friends for over 10 years.

A smaller group went to the ocean a few times for the weekend. We talk, walked on the beach, blew bubbles, played rummy cube, drank wine, talked all night. Laughed until we cried and cried for those who had not been reuntied.

It is great, to laugh, cry, hug, just talk for hours with someone who really knows and understands what you are talking about. Knows how you feel and can respond with a answer to a question in a way that helps you.

I hope all of you can find this kind of friendship.

I loved New Zealand, sheep,LOL hubby loved the golf.. great fun. We spent a week in Rotoura.

Beautful country.

We did learn what a "metal surface" road was, after we were on it and covered in dust.

The map was great, but metal surface, that was what the map said. We call them gravel roads. A very narrow road, and then there was that truck full of sheep. Talk about think narrow, squeese your cheeks together hoping it will make the car smaller. It was straight down a very steep mountian on my side. I kept telling hubby to "slow down".
He said if he went any slower I would have to push.

I offered to walk. LOL

LOL
