My Two Cents Your feedback Needed

Pretend, for a moment, that you are creating the perfect Christmas Ornament for sale to other birthparents – this ornament would signify your roll in the triad and would be something you would want to display in your home. What would the ornament say?

It would be suitable for gift giving (someone might give this to a birthmother for a gift) as well.

I will have to think about this one...it's a good question, but tough to answer. I know it would need to be something that has a special unspoken meaning.

Can I just say NOTHING with the word gift? Or a picture of a present?

Other than that... *thinks*

I'd probably just prefer something that symbolizes the triad itself (like the celtic knot) that was customizable with names.

no words...a picture of some sort...something that would be special to all sides.

Jenna's knot does come to mind....

or a triangle with 3 roses...a rose for each side.

I still need to think some more....

I completely agree. My son was not a gift to anyone. I would want an ornament that only contained a picture of my son. I would NOT want anything that referred to adoption. I do not want to celebrate the loss of my son EVER, and I certainly don't want to own an ornament that reminds me of that loss. I know first mothers who have received the "celebrate adoption" ornaments (I think put out by Dave ? - the owner of Wendy's and an adoptee) from their relinquished adult child during reunion. They were devastated to receive such a gift, even though it was given with good intentions.

I like Jenna's idea of something that symbolizes the triad. I frequently wear the adoption necklace that I got for Christmas. I had a waitress ask about it, although she sort of disappeared after she found out I was the birthmother!

How about a triangle with a heart intertwined? The triangle obviously would relate to the triad and the heart would be everyones love for the child, or the love felt for the other members in the triad. Don't ask me to draw it for I couldn't draw a straight line if my life depended on it.
