Friday Fun: What does your name mean and does it fit you?

I've always been one that's big on names and their meanings so I was wondering how many of you know what your names mean and does it fit you?

You can go here to find out the meaning of your name, Behind the Name - the Etymology and History of First Names and share what you think about it .

Jennifer is the welsh form of GUINEVERE.

Quote:
GUINEVERE
Gender: Feminine
Usage: English, Welsh Mythology
Pronounced: GWIN-e-veer [key]
Old French form of the Welsh name Gwenhwyfar, which is composed of the elements gwen meaning "fair, white" and hwyfar meaning "smooth". In Arthurian legend she is the beautiful wife of King Arthur. Her betrayal of her husband with Mordred prompted the battle of Camlann, which led to the deaths of both Mordred and Arthur. Later versions of the legends tell of her adulterous affair with Sir Lancelot.

And yes, I think it does describe me. I'm paler than a ghost and burn in any sun. Sign. The curse of a red head.

My parents picked my name because of its meaning. My name is Karen Michaele. It means pure, in the image of God. I want it to describe me, but probably fall short more often than I would like.

Incidentally, they were told that Karen was very close to my birth name. I wonder what it was...

My first name:

VERONICA Gender: Feminine Usage: English, Italian, Romanian Pronounced: ve-RAHN-i-ka (English) [key]

ELIZABETH
Gender: Feminine

Usage: English, Biblical

Pronounced: ee-LIZ-a-beth [key]

From Ελισαβετ (Elisabet), the Greek form of the Hebrew name אֱלִישֶׁבַע ('Elisheva') meaning "my God is an oath" or perhaps "my God is abundance". In the Old Testament Elisheba is the wife of Aaron. In the New Testament Elizabeth is the mother of John the Baptist. It was also borne by the 12th-century Saint Elizabeth, a daughter of King Andrew II of Hungary who became a Franciscan nun and lived in poverty. This was also the name of a ruling queen of England and an empress of Russia. Famous modern bearers include the British queen Elizabeth II and actress Elizabeth Taylor.

Not sure if it "fits" me or not....

I hate Jennifer and refuse to acknowledge it as my name.

Jenna, however, means Little Bird.

When I looked up Angela it told me to go to this one:

ANGEL Gender: Masculine & Feminine
Usage: English, Bulgarian
Other Scripts: Ангел (Bulgarian)
Pronounced: AYN-jel (English) [key]
From the medieval Latin masculine name Angelus which was derived from the name of the heavenly creature (itself derived from the Greek word αγγελος (angelos) meaning "messenger").

ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sorry, but I am no angel.

Leah Mae-weary sea of bitterness.

I am not a bitter person, but I am certainly weary. I am weary of DH being gone, issues with his awful parents and weary of the issues we've had starting our family (although things are looking up!!!).

BRANDY

Gender: Feminine

Usage: English

Pronounced: BRAN-dee [key]
Simply means "brandy" from the English word for the alcoholic drink. It is ultimately from Dutch brandewijn "distilled wine".

Uh...
