Remember, those of you in open adoptions, DO NOT confuse that with open records.
Most of us who are in open adoptions actually placed in states that DO NOT have open records - so legally, our children CAN NOT have access to the records of their adoption. I encourage everyone who placed in a state that does not have an OPEN RECORDS (not Original Birth Certificate) law on the books to sign!

i am an aparent. our adoption was closed and sealed, BUT our lawyer had the forethought to have copies of every document we had, made right there in the courthouse by the courthoust secretary, BEFORE the records were sealed. so in my safe i have whatever my child would look for in his records. is this good enough or should i make sure i get something else during my next adoption?
