It sometimes goes in waves, like you are feeling good and back to almost normal and then boom almost as bad as the beginning, but generally it gets better and not worse. It is more a matter of serious the feelings are. If you feel like your not ready to have your life back to such an extent that it is effecting your ability to perform everyday tasks that you once enjoyed or were abe to do with little effort then it might be time to look at getting professional help.
