i contacted my bd. i sent a message thru her facebook. she was SO excited!!! i think it helped to be able to see my picture on my profile too. we both tried to be cautious. but she wanted to know aobut my family and i about hers. we spent 3 hours emailing back and forth.
its just sooo amazing. it took me over a month to do this. but i believe it was in God's hands...the timing was right.
i'm in just in awe right now how blessed i am!!!!

thanks girls. wow! i'm so glad i read the adoption reunion book. it has really helped me thru this. while i am on cloud nine...there are many emotions i am feeling. i'm glad my bd is excited b/c it keeps me from sinking sometimes. this has brought the rush of emotions i felt during the pregnancy, thinking about the tramatic birth ( i got REALLY sick after i delivered her) holding her in the hospital,the adoption hearing, and then the empty arms. there's some truth in missing the childhood she's had. but i am comforted by the love she has had by her parents. the security they showered on her. she is a very mature and just an awesome Christian girl. her 1st email back to me was.."i have been praying for you and this meeting a thousand times". i just bawled reading that. she had plans on finding me when she turned 21, but she's so glad she doesnt have to go thru all the paperwork.
we have only been communicating thru email. but she is calling me today. she has been anxious to talk on the phone. but i'm glad we've only communicated thru email for now b/c i can think thru my words.
i am trying to keep a slow pace. we ask each other so many questions. nothing has gotten personal. she did ask if i had any pictures of her bf, which i dont. pray for me on that end. i want to share her..but not yet. he wasnt involved in the adoption. i'm not even sure how he'll receive her. i'm pretty sure i can contact his mom, and get some pix. she and i have always been able to talk well when we see each other. he is always nice, but its awkward. plus my parents dont want me to contact him. but they dont understand all this stuff. i feel i owe it to my bd to let her make that decision and help her in anyway.
my bd says her parents are thrilled that we're in contact. she did express she was worried about her mom b/c their relationship has been up and down..like any mom/dd. but since she has been out of the house, its been better.
well thats the update right now. please keep us in your prayers. i know God is guiding us thru this. it so wonderful that we can both say to each other, "i am praying for you" "let's pray about this whole reunion so God can guide us." so that part is amazing and comforting. thank you all for letting me share and helping embark in this journey!!!
