Hi Courtney. I am a new member to the Adoption Forum and am so happy that I found you all. I am a birthmother and surrendered my son 32 years ago. And I found him two years ago! It has been wonderful, a roller coaster ride, some rough spots, but b asically a wonderful experience. We talk every week, he has an amazing relationship with his new found siblings. My question is this: does the fear of losing your child again ever go away? It is with me constantly in spite of all that is good in my life. I have been so blessed with the way it all worked out - my other children have been wonderful. I am just so insecure in the relationship and fear that it will never go away. Can you give me some advice?
thanks.

Well, sweetie,
i really can't say much on that, since I haven't been there yet. I am still pregnant with my child that I am giving up for adoption. But I can say that seems like a normal fear to have. And my prayers will be with you, that all in your son's life and your life will continue to go well. Just enjoy the moments you do have, and don't fear what you have no control over...you may make yourself stress over nothing. BIG HUGS!!! Tia |

Having just been found by my son for the second time, I share the same fears and have tons of questions. Is there a way to get in touch with you by e-mail?

Kathy,
It seems like an experience you may not have ever had. Enjoy it! Think of how insecure the adoptive mother must feel after you came back into his life. Love is always scary and confusing. Even a love with your son. Just enjoy and see a counselor or a pastor if you need to talk it out. Robin
