Okay all, I got nebby and called the office for my initial results, meaning the first HCG test's numbers. Technically, they don't tell you anything as you really need to see the second set of numbers to see whether or not your HCG is rising or not.

That said, my number was 10,602 at 5w,2d pregnant.

That said, any number of 10,000 at 5w increases the likelihood of a multiple pregnancy. *blinks* Which would explain the spotting and bleeding. *blinks* For a comparison, at 6weeks (w/ twins), D's HCG number was just over 11,000.

*blinks again*

Okay, so we will know nothing concrete until Thursday. With a number that high, it is likely that, first and foremost, Butterball is growing and doing well. Hopefully my numbers rise from my test in the morning. That, in of itself, will be enough for me. It is quite possible that I just have a high HCG level. (That's not bad.) However, if my number increases HUGELY, no doubt I will be given an ultrasound to see if there are TWO Turkeys growing in there.

I will be keeping you all updated, of course.

Here's what I need prayer for right now:

1. The same nurse to take my blood tomorrow (Wed) because she did it AWESOME; my vein didn't even roll. NO BRUISING. (I loathe needles.)

2. Another busy day at work tomorrow so as not to think and dwell too much on things that I have NO CONTROL over at this point in time.

3. A nice "pseudo-vacation" with Josh in Columbus on Thursday afternoon. (I will not be posting anything until, possibly, Friday, as we're taking a day. I'm going to Columbus to stay with him as he's up there for Fire Academy training (fire inspector) and I miss him dearly. )

4. Good news, either way. More specifically, HEALTHY news, either way.

5. And, if it was to be twins, the prayers for my kidney have to start yesterday. I'm a bit frightened at this but I know whatever happens is meant to be, so just pray.

I will attempt to contact someone to update everyone on Thursday if I'm not home. (If they call me home for an u/s, I will post real quick.)

Pray. Pray. Pray!

You know Jenna, as I've been thinking about you this past couple of days, I've visualized Butterball causing the cramping from digging in with her/his as of yet, non-existent fists to get a good hand hold... The numbers seem to indicate that s/he has a good grip - YEAH!

As for the twins possibility... I think you're exactly right. If that's the case, it's because that's how it's meant to be.

You continue to be in my thoughts and I will be awaiting news.

Make sure to keep getting lots of rest!!!

((((HUGS))))

Jen,

(((HUGS)))! The numbers do sound good! You will definitely be in my prayers for all of the above.

My numbers were about the same as yours with dd. She did start out as a twin. Unfortunately, somewhere between 8 weeks when I was released from the fertility dr and my 17 week ultrasound, the twin "disappeared". I later found out this is called Vanishing Twin Syndrome, and it is quite common. (Not that I hope this happens to you! I just wanted to explain my signature.) I just wanted to let you know that with that level, you may very well be carrying twins. I'll say some extra prayers for your kidney!!!

Have a wonderful "mini vacation" with Josh!
