PLEASE POST INFO ON REGISTRIES

They usually come here for support during the reunion/recovery process. We have a free Search Registry on this website. If you go to the top of the page where you found the questions and answers for my Forum, you will see the word "HOME." Just tap on the word with your mouse and it will take you to our Home page. From there you can reach the Free Search Registry, which will ask you to fill in general information about the adoption to the best of your knowledge. Your information will be posted, so that adoptees looking for birthparents can run a SEARCH for a match (bmother & child, etc.). Also, send a self-addressed, stamped letter-size envelope to INTERNATIONAL SOUNDEX REUNION REGISTRY, P.O. Box 2312, Carson City, Nevada 89702-2312. They will mail back a Registration Form for you to fill in and return. ISRR is the biggest and best-known world-wide Search Registry. Once they have your information, they will run a search to try to match you to your child. If your daughter is registered, both YOU and SHE will be notified by letter or phone call. If she isn't registered, they will put your identifying information on the Registry in hope that she will begin searching in the near future. On-Line Registries can be found by going to: http://www.reunionregistry.org/regist.htm. I advise you to post your information on as many registries as possible. We have a SEARCH FORUM available to you, also. Look at the bottom of the FORUM DIRECTORY where you found my Support Forum you'll find Damsel's SEARCH FORUM. She has posted several helpful articles about searching and can offer advice and direction. I suggest that you also take advantage of our BOOK SHOP (for reviews on recommended books on Reunions and recovery) and see our READING ROOM for some excellent articles designed to support you throughout this sometimes stressful process. We have had much success in steering birthfamilies and adoptees to the right sources that lead to reunion; sometimes it takes a long time, though. BE prepared for either. Good luck. Please feel free to write to me at my Forum if you need someone to talk to in the future. Hugs, Carol -- Birthmother reunited 12 years.
