I am a birth mom. I was forced to give my baby to my aunt at 13 years of age. I've watched my son grow up from a distance. I want to establish a relationship with him, but my family is against it. They want me to look at my son like a cousin. My mother calls him her nephew and my father calls him grandson. This has been so confusing for everyone. Especially for me what can I do.

I can't even imagine the impact this thing has had on your life ... I was all of 19 when I gave up my Susan (with whom I was reunited after 32 years of separation in 1986). At age 13, this must have had a terribly traumatic effect on you.

Not a day has gone by that you haven't captured a special place in my heart & thoughts about you and I prayed that when you were of age, that our short-lived family & pictures biography and information I had drawn up through many tears and heartaches, and numerous tearful but joyous visits in the ten short days I spent nursing your beautiful, innocent, tender being ,lovingly would come into your possession through appropriate channels (via social worker &
your foster parents). It took one and one-half years of pain ful visits from the social workers to complete your adoption registration as they kept losing your file(so the worker told me). You were a gorgeous baby boy born on February 6, 1979 at the Royal Columbia Hospital in New Westminster baptised as Jonathan Daniel Marek (Hnatiw). You have a family that is longing to get to know you so "PLEASE, IF YOU WOULD GIVE ME THE GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY OF CONTACTING ME TO LET ME KNOW HOW YOU FEEL AND REINTRODUCE YOU & YOUR FAMILY (with permission) WOULD BER THE BIGGEST BLESSING IN MY LIFE AND HOPEFULLY IN YOURS.
