Our first Christmas "together"

This has been a year of "firsts" for me. It's the year I turned 40. It is the year I FINALLY met my birthmother and my birthfather (as well as siblings, cousins, grandparents, etc!)

We had our first Mother's Day and our first birthdays together. Now it's our first Christmas. What a blessing it's been.

Not all has been well though, last week one of my "new" half sisters died of leukemia at age 37. But the good thing is that we got to know each other before she died. She was diagnosed the month we met and if my search had taken just a few months longer I never would have known her at all. This must be quite overwhelming for my birthfather to have FOUND a daughter and LOST a daughter all at the same time.

As the song goes, "What a long, strange trip it's been!"

Merry Christmas everyone, and I hope for loving, lasting relationships for all of you.

Continued Happiness Sonata

God surely works in strange ways ... I think our children are "returned" to us when we are in most need. I'm so glad you were on time to meet your sister.

Have a wonderful Christmas and a super nice New Year.
Hugs, Carol
