Songs that help you wait? Songs to process emotions?

I am interested in songs that help you wait for reunion or that help you process the emotions that go along with reunion. I have found that music helps me a lot with all the emotions that go along with the wonderful experience that is reunion!

I don't know that this helps me with my wait, but it helps me with my loss as a birthmother. For those of us that are birthmothers sometimes we forget it is OK to hurt and OK to cry.
Patty Loveless
"How can I Help You Say Goodbye"

Through the back window of a '59 wagon
I watched my best friend Jamie slippin' further away
I kept on waving 'till I couldn't see her
And through my tears, I asked again why we couldn't stay
Mama whispered softly, Time will ease your pain
Life's about changing, nothing ever stays the same

And she said, How can I help you to say goodbye?
It's OK to hurt, and it's OK to cry
Come, let me hold you and I will try
How can I help you to say goodbye?

I sat on our bed, he packed his suitcase
I held a picture of our wedding day
His hands were trembling, we both were crying
He kissed me gently and then he quickly walked away
I called up Mama, she said, Time will ease your pain
Life's about changing, nothing ever stays the same

And she said, How can I help you to say goodbye?
It's OK to hurt, and it's OK to cry
Come, let me hold you and I will try
How can I help you to say goodbye?

Sitting with Mama alone in her bedroom
She opened her eyes, and then squeezed my hand
She said, I have to go now, my time here is over
And with her final word, she tried to help me understand
Mama whispered softly, Time will ease your pain
Life's about changing, nothing ever stays the same

And she said, How can I help you to say goodbye?
It's OK to hurt, and it's OK to cry
Come, let me hold you and I will try
How can I help you to say goodbye?

How can I help you to say goodbye?

My song is more practical..

If You Love Somebody Set Them Free
From the album The Dream of the Blue Turtles (A&M)
Words and music by Sting

If you need somebody, call my name
If you want someone, you can do the same
If you want to keep something precious
You got to lock it up and throw away the key
If you want to hold onto your possession
Don't even think about me

If you love somebody
If you love someone
If you love somebody
If you love someone, set them free

Set them free
Set them free
Set them free
Set them free

If it's a mirror you want, just look into my eyes
Or a whipping boy, someone to despise
Or a prisoner in the dark
Tied up in chains you just can't see
Or a beast in a gilded cage
That's all some people ever want to be

If you love somebody
If you love someone
If you love somebody
If you love someone, set them free

Set them free
Set them free
Set them free
Set them free

You can't control an independent heart
Can't tear the one you love apart
Forever conditioned to believe that we can't live
We can't live here and be happy with less
So many riches, so many souls
Everything we see that we want to possess

If you need somebody, call my name
If you want someone, you can do the same
If you want to keep something precious
You got to lock it up and throw away the key
If you want to hold onto your possession
Don't even think about me

If you love somebody
If you love someone
If you love somebody
If you love someone set them free

Set them free
Set them free
Set them free
Set them free

This piece of music.. below.. is what I listened to when I went back to Florida years after I had given my son up..
At that point I was not talking about him..
We were traveling in a camper.. hubby and second and third born.. but we stayed in a motel..
We were in St Augustine.. I went into the camper when I was overwhelmed with sadness..
I could not cry in front of hubby and kids..

And I put this on the cd player..
And started to cry.. and cry.. it was like my first kick at the can in grief..

What I found out later was that bson was in Jacksonville.. at that time..

Jackie

Dire Straits
Album: Brothers in Arms

These mist covered mountains
Are a home now for me
But my home is the lowlands
And always will be
Some day you'll return to
Your valleys and your farms
And you'll no longer burn
To be brothers in arm

Through these fields of destruction
Baptism of fire
I've watched all your suffering
As the battles raged higher
And though they did hurt me so bad
In the fear and alarm
You did not desert me
My brothers in arms

There's so many different worlds
So many different suns
And we have just one world
But we live in different ones

Now the sun's gone to hell
And the moon's riding high
Let me bid you farewell
Every man has to die
But it's written in the starlight
And every line on your palm
We're fools to make war
On our brothers in arms

The Dixie Chicks Classic "Voice inside My Head"

"Voice Inside My Head"

I was only a kid
When I said goodbye to you
Ten summers ago
But it feels like yesterday
Lost, scared and alone
Nothing I could give to you
I tried, I really did
But I couldn't find another way

And I want and I need
Somehow to believe
In the choice I made
Am I better off this way

I can hear the voice inside my head
Saying you should be with me instead
Every time I'm feeling down, I wonder
What would it be like with you around

So I, I made my way
Cold and roaming in the wild
I'm forever changed
By someone I never knew
Now I've, I've got a place
I've got a husband and a child
But I'll never forget
What I've given up in you

And I want, I need
Somehow to believe
In the choice I made
Am I better off this way

I can hear the voice inside my head
Saying you should be with me instead
Every time I'm feeling down, I wonder
What would it be like with you around

And I want, I need
Somehow to believe
In the choice I made
Am I better off this way

anything that was Christian
praise and worship songs
I am gifted in playing piano and singing and i would always sing out to Jesus with songs in my heart or on paper.lots of tears i could hardly get through the songs when i was thinking of her.....its that kind of mourning that the holy spirit understands and comforts come in many ways

now im a singing more WITHOUT crying ....thankyou Jesus
He alone deserves the glory for raising me up from the pit of depression after i gave my daughter away

I pray dear God i dont sink that low ever again in my life!!
18 is finally here !!!

Thanks, Longing! I recently added the song In the Garden by Elvis Presley to my music player. Very calming I like the part that goes:

I walk in the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses,
And the voice I hear
Whisper in my ear.....

And He walks with me,
And He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His Own...
