Thoughts/help - I found out some info...
I have my bdaughter's first name and obviously DOB and place of birth. I work at a law firm and had the librarians run a person search for people with her name and DOB/place. Two matches came up:
One was born in AL on the right date but SSN was issued in 6-7 years later in PA. Other was born in AL and has AL SSN. What should my next step be? Now that I have more info, can I get more info and see if I can narrow it down? Thanks all! |

You could go to AL equivalent of the Bureau of Vital Stats and pull the birth certificates? I am not sure if that would give you the info that you need or not.....(my DH found stuff by doing that....his original birth certificate was supposed to be "redacted" but it wasn't I don't think, so he had the last name of his birth mom). Good luck in your search!

I see nothing wrong with writing the persons you have found..
When I started searching one of the main ways was looking for drivers license.. or voting registrations with men and women born on the date.. The next step to this was to send out bulk letters asking if the person connected with was adopted. Nothing wrong with a letter saying you are trying to connect and were open to contact and you want to give information to the right person.. etc etc. Have you contacted the agency? did you use an agency?
