Welcome Birthfathers!!!

Howdy,
we exist.
We wait,
we hurt,
we cry
we feel
we are often ignored.

Hiya Xdad! I'm not a birthfather, but I'm glad to see you here.

I'm actually having some frustration because I would love nothing more than to find my son's birthfather and involve him in the reunion, but the one person who I know that can help me with that (I've blocked out the birthfather's last name :-( refuses to answer my emails.
I wish I could get him to understand that perhaps this man has spent the past 24 years wondering about his son...
*sigh*

Howdy Hi. I know it must be tough. I know you have thought of everything, but that name is in your head. Have you tried therapy? Hypnosis? gone through a memory box from that era, listened to music from that era? It'll come...if you let it. That is too bad about not answering your emails. There is a chance that somehow your email wasn't read, and possibly sent to the spam box? Have you tried sending a proper letter? Registered letter? There has got to be a way.

Thumbs up

Hey XDad!

Don't know if it helps but I see your pain and I respect you for sharing it and for keeping the lines open.

((( XDad )))

P.S. You are not an "X" Dad; you're a Devoted Dad.

Hang in there, okay?

Maybe we should call you 'JustADad'?

Anyway, I did try hypnosis recently, I discovered why I was blocking the name, but it's still not forthcoming.
I had originally written a snail mail to the mutual friend, and he seemed willing to help, until I explained why. I know my emails aren't going to the spam box, because one time, I wrote from another email and he answered directly, and then when I asked for his help again...nothing...
I also occasionally get chain emails from this guy. *sigh*

I'm debating writing a letter to the birth father and asking this guy if he'd consider forwarding it if he finds anything out. I've appealed to him as a father himself (wouldn't YOU want to know?). I've tried to reassure him that I'm not interested in screwing this guy's life up, just wanting to give him the option to get to know his son.
Oh well. Dad's like you keep me going in my search for figuring out how to crack this...

I would send the letter, what have you to lose? I would also get sneaky with the guy you do know, see if you can find out who his friends are...facebook, twitter, myspace. If you don't find your guy there, maybe some other names might bring him to the surface. I would also look at your "chain emails" these are usually sent as "reply to all" and you may find some clues in the CC or BCC fields from these emails. Then there is the whole "reply" to the chain and cc everybody from his list (minus the one guy) and send a generic email with vague info about your situation...
just a thought.

He may not be on Facebook, but I'll bet one or two of his pals are from the cc/bcc on the chain letter. Anyone of those names can be your link. If you remember any of the things this person likes to do, they usually don't change much and frequent places that are dear to them.
and remember...
If not on facebook today, check tomorrow. Stranger things have happened....

I found a picture of my daughter just by typing her name into a photobucket search. you never know were you'll find it.
