It was nice eye candy until the middle aged man with a Farmer's Tan and big beer belly came walking by with no shirt on. That wasn't so sweet.

We just received the line up for the performances!! Maybe Soundcheck won't be so bad!!! We're gonna have:

The Romantics, John Waite, Eddie Money, Foghat, Grand Funk Railroad, The Original Family Stone, Morris Day & the Time, Austin Lounge Lizards, Tracy Byrd, Jo Dee Messina, Soul Asylum, Better Than Ezra

That's awesome Roni!

I'm kickin' it old school tonight and am going to be dancing as an alumni at my high school dance concert! There's about twelve of us alumni and we're dancing to Tainted Love (gotta love the 80's!)

Heidi, I realize that you think you're just being a great parent, but your great parenting influences a lot more people than your son. Your being supportive, no matter at what level of contact (if any) he is ready for, would be a great comfort for me to know if I was his bmom.

OMG I SOOOO wanna go to the Festival!! Sounds like fun! Roni, we could have an adventure!

Heidi: I have to say, I remember your story because a) you were UBER supportive of me when I first joined here last summer and b)DS b-mom had come into his life unannounced and that caused some issues around the same time my DD's b dad did the same. And you were always so gracious even though DS's b-mom wasn't as much to you , and your DS was adamenly against contact you supported him and was non-judgemental of whatever his decision was. You kept the line open for him to make up his own mind in whatever he decided, and you would stand beside him. It was such a healthy way to be, not all a-moms are so open and supportive, so I give you a lot of credit for that. I know it seems "all in a day's work" but it's so much more, at least from a b-mom perspective. And I'm glad the response was positive, because I know it wasn't always so!

So cheers! Wait... TG, I HAVE NO WINE

I ran downstairs for a bit. They are setting up the speakers and what not. Sound check will be starting soon. And they already have the Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream booth set up!! No ice cream yet...but it sounds good!! The Children's section is almost done (they are at the other end of the campus). Lots and lots of activity going on down there. I guess I'll have to check with DH and see if he wants to go Saturday.

We're still trying to figure out how they plan on doing the Pink Floyd Laser Show in daylight!!

Well Brown, catch a plane down here. If you can't make it this year then come next year. They have it every year about the same time...while the wildflowers are still in bloom.

If you don't see me climbing the walls you'll find me at the festival.

She Didn't Say No!!!

Okay, thanks to some dark chocolate m&m's, I got the courage up and called my CI, Gayle. She talked to DD tonight, and DD consented to anonymous contact. All emails/letters will go through Gayle. They'll be censored, so I can't put in ANY info that might give her a clue as to my name, location, her siblings, etc, but at least it's contact. She didn't say no!!!

She still has to mail the consent to Gayle, and Gayle has to file it with the court, which could take some time. Now I've got to write a letter to her, and I don't know what to say!!

I'm going to take over the wall-climbing again, so, Roni, enjoy the festival. Eye candy: even better than the no-calorie chocolate served in the "waiting room."

Amy, that is good news. I am very happy that she didn't say no out right.
Aren't dark chocolate M&M's the best?

She called. They talked. Brief but friendly.

She and her daughter are flying out here in June for 3 days.

I have to say thanks to all of you because my time here getting to know all of you has really helped me to be ready for this. It's very emotional. I hope this happens for all of you very soon.

I can only hope DD's mom will do the same thing.
