yep, I'm still alive and so are the boys... so far.

S stayed up very late last night and looked like death warmed over this morning when his grandfather dragged him out of bed. Now if we can just keep him awake until bedtime!

I have to admit I mostly visit the hospitals in Pittsburgh.

By the way, I'm facing 56 in October. The year I turned 52, my dad wished me a happy 50th birthday. I reminded him I was 52 -- he said, yah, I know, but I thought maybe you decided to go the other direction. Let's see, that would make me 44. (I think that was a good year!)

Well, it's been a day, I'll tell you!

I woke up late and exhausted, and REALLY not in the mood to go to work! After calling in a bit late, (after contimplating an excuse good enough to take a mental health day) I got in the car to go to work and it was raining, there was thunder in the distance no biggie, right?

WRONG!

Something ridiculous like 5 inches in an hour fell. Flooding, road closures, traffic lights out, you name it. I saw the woods on the distance on fire where lightning hit. And for the first time ever I heard the Emergency Broadcast System come over the radio for something that was NOT a test, there was a tornado spotted as a result of the storm! (sounds like nothing to you Texans, LOL! but here in NY this is NOT your everyday occurance!)

When I got to work 2 1/2 hours late we had no power because the glassed in atrium accumulated so much rain it flooded out the lobby and the control room and shorted out the electrical board. So they finally sent us home when the phones went out. So I spent more time on the road than at work, but at least I got my day off

Kathy: Hang in there!

Roni and Leigh: any news to share?

Josh: Thanks for the b day wishes!!!

TG: I heart Boston! My sis used to live there, and I do have a friend from HS who is not far from there (plus it is only a three and a half hour drive, not bad!)
I always have a great time, but I havent been there since my sister moved a few years ago. I do so need to get back there! Have enough goings on in Sept tho, maybe next time!!

yes, i'm sure september will be busy for you! I'm going out to see a Patriots game with some boys I met back at the AFC Championship game in Indy, so in theory if I make good friends with these boys I'll be back

Boston is great too. It reminds me of Pittsburgh. I used to live in Derry, NH and commute to Logan airport. When I lived in Derry, I remember there being like 6 months that I never saw anything other than white snow!!!

Lovin' Boston Legal. It brings a kind of new affinity to me from Boston.

I'd say come this way you cheap, legal car renter you - but it is like a 10 hour drive here from there.

haha, i actually plan on going about one month shy of me being a legal car renter...and it definitely reads like I am both a legal car renter, and cheap...not like it would be cheaper for me to insure, but rather that I am possibly a...uh...yeah....you can figure it out! haha

LOL!
Hows the day TG? Still slow?

Well, we don't have to bring the ark out here, tho speaking of Boston, I think we just shipped our storms up their way (sorry Leigh!) I much needed the break from work, I've gotten a lot of my phone calls and wedding stuff taken care of, got a manicure (strawberry margarita, nice ) and now I get to go to the dentist (thrill!)

The sun has even come out for a bit

I loved loved LOVED Boston!
I'm so happy I was able to take my family there this latest trip to the USA! We hope to go there again.
It was also cool to meet bson there for the first time. :-)

You all are welcome here too...:-) I guess that would be ONE way to break my birthmom status to my in-laws...

I am giddy for absolutely no reason!! LOL!!

Boston...LOL!!! We went there a few years ago for our friends wedding (keep in mind I have rarely left Texas). On the way out there DH kept teasing me, telling me I really didn't need a passport to leave Texas (duh!). One morning we go into Dunkin Donuts to get coffee. The lady behind the counter was asking me something. I couldn't understand her!! I asked her to repeat it 3 times!! DH is dying laughing!! He tells me to say yes, so I did. Afterwards I asked him what was she saying...and he told me she was asking if I wanted a Coffee Regular. Again, I'm confused...a regular coffee is a medium sized coffee...well not in Boston...it's a coffee with cream and sugar. Geez!! I didn't realize I needed a translator just to go to another state!!

TGM -- let me know!! Beautiful time to come up. If we have our Indian Summer it will be in the 80's if not we are talking 60's.
Brown -- Thank you for keeping the storms your way. We only got showers this afternoon. Just a nice gentle shower not bad at all.
Roni -- yes you do need to learn a new language when you come up here. We all talk normal, it is everyone else who talks weird LOL
Other wise: nothing, nothing, nothing
I need a wicked vacation right now.

Boston in the fall is AMAZING! That was my favorite time to go up there, around Columbus Day. Salem that time of year is SOOOO much fun!

Roni: I drink my KAWF-ee Regular too

TG: Guess what? Day is over. All done See was that's so bad!

Atleast I didn't say things are a "wicked pissah"
Don't drink coffee but my iced tea from Dunkin is black.

Oh yeah at that time the only way to get into Salem is on the commuter. No place to park eitherwise.
