Orrideus-It is amazing to me the details I have forgotten or have remembered differently in my mind. When I got my letters that I had sent to my DD it was a little shocking at times.

My second f2f is going to be tomorrow!!!!! And it is my DD's birthday!! This will be the first time I have seen her on that day in 23 years! It is a little overwhelming. But I am so happy that she is willing to spend time on her birthday with ME!! Especially at her age. So say a little prayer that all goes well. I can't wait. I thought this would be easier--but the closer it gets the more nervous I am.

My second ftf is coming up the 13th of April! So I know what you mean about that nervousness.

But IT WILL BE FINE! I'm sure it will just feel so good for you, and that's GREAT that it's on her birthday! Now maybe you can make it a positive memory day, kwIm??

I have given up on the train. Glad to see it still exists in the rest of the world. I guess that is what I get for living in a town that pulled up all the train tracks and made walking trails - from rails to trails!!!! (haha)

Hi everyone. Not sure if this is the right spot to put this but need so help. My bd was born in VA but adopted in NY. I spoke with Va ss and they said they have no information on the adoption. They did say there was an amended bc in VA because that's where she was born. Now NY is giving me a hard time with this because she was not born in NY. So my questions are..if I did a birth index search where would I do it at, NY or VA., probable both but I now live in NY. But if NY has no bc hen there wouldn't be a birth index,right? So maybe VA would be the place to start. I'm so confussed! Any advice would be greatly welcomed.

I would start in VA since that is where the ammended certificate is located and see where it takes me. The search can be difficult! and frustrationg.

BTW my dinner with DD and her mom went extremely well. It was very nice to get to sing Happy Birthday to her for the first time.

I am with you, Joshmom, I have given up on the train. I don't see the point in having hope any longer. She has a facebook page and can get on that but she cannot make a simple, little phone call to repair this relationship. Not one.
I truelly don't know what to do, where to turn or where to go. I don't.
someone on another forum told me that I had confidence. I don't. I just have a horrible stubborn streak. There is no confidence. They took that away from me.

Oh - Leigh, I so agree with you on that. That's one of the things they don't tell you about adoption while they are only telling you how wonderful and rosey things will be afterwards. Baloney!!!!

Happy Easter, Leigh and all. I'm in the midst of my usual Holy Week services. (Only 7 services between Thursday and Sunday.) Tomorrow all the kids will be here for AJ's fifth birthday party. It will be the first time D and his family will visit me at my new place.

Hi all,
I have more that survived. (Although I may sleep the next week!) AJ's party went well, D approved my house, (ALL my children were home...). The services went well; my daughter helped with the meal. (She pared the potatoes while I was at the 10:30 service.) My dad came with my sister and family for dinner and now they are all gone except the 14 yr old who is here until tomorrow. (And wonder of wonders, I didn't have any meltdowns!)

We had an egghunt for the little ones... it was hysterical watching them find the eggs. Especially the 16 month old who now has a 2 word vocabulary: What (said like his 13 yr old brother when Mom wants something) and NO! (Complete with pointing finger.) On the down side, I think my asthma is responding negatively to spring flowers (guess who stands closest to them on Easter in worship!)

I am recovering!! I watched a dear friends little one (shouldn't say that since he is 34 months and wears a 4T) and those 2 days we did alot of reading!!! and some Deigo. Kid needs to find something else to watch!!
Had to update my facebook page. My dear brother set up our Mother with a page, she does not know about Supergirl, so had to get rid off the photos just to make sure.

By the way, Kathy has a GREAT rambling house she's living in and she is a FANTASTIC cook!

My vacation? Filled with illnesses, but we are all ok. Had a great time with bson. BTW kathy, I think he really appreciated talking to a birthmom that wasn't his own! He seemed to open up to you more than he has to me! But so have I. :-)

I'll tell more later, maybe some on the co-dependancy thread! haha
