Hi, everybody! Just wanted to pop in and say hi. I hope everyone is having a great weekend. It's been snowing like crazy all day here. Sooo, if I disappear from the boards, it's not because I don't love you guys...it's because my power or phone lines went down.
Crossing my fingers and saying a quick prayer that that doesn't happen! Sometimes I hate "country living", lol.

Hi Everyone!
Are we all surviving the holiday season? Has Kathy packed up her computer? Will I ever get over my strep throat?? Bah I'm just feeling sorry for myself. Love you all! You're the best! |

First, take ALL your antibiotics! I'm sorry you are not well! I have not yet packed my computer, but my schedule is even crazier than usual (is that even possible?) I'm trying to wrap up ministry here (including saying goodbyes), pack, plus doing all the regular stuff for this time of the year. The Christmas pageant for one of my congregations was last Sunday. (It's organized chaos and lots of fun...) Yesterday, I drove my friend Lynn to Pittsburgh for her post-operation visit. (She had gastric bypass surgery last week, so I had her husband as a guest for a couple days.) Today I have my last food pantry distribution. Then I have two different movers coming to make estimates on the cost of moving me. etc.... I'll try to stop in occasionally, just to let you know I'm alive!

(((HUGS))) to you, Quantum and anyone else who needs them.
I hope you get over your strep soon - that sucks - ick. Have some ice cream, hot chocolate or cider - maybe that will help some .And yes, I'm surviving the holiday season, well, so far, anyway. I already bought and sent my Christmas packages to both my girls and families and am pretty much done with all my Christmas shopping and have been for a while for the most part. I'm down in the dinky, small town with hubby living at the in-laws still - but they're cool - I've liked living here and getting closer with them for the most part. They're actually better than my mom - my Dad and I, of course, are best friends...my mom and I, well, we don't get along too well, cause of codependency issues/issues that came up from when I went to counseling that are related to her and so forth that I'm sure I've talked about before here. Anyway, hubby and I are moving back up to civilization and what is more like the city to me up by my parents next week right before Christmas on the 23rd. We're going to stay with my parents for a couple months while we get jobs and our own place up there - hoping to get into a condo/house and skip the apt if possible. So, yeah we're having Christmas down here in AZ with his parents/family on Dec. 21 (Sun) and then packing and going up on Dec. 23 (Tues) to start getting settled in and have Christmas up there in UT with my parents/family. Then after Christmas my Dad and hubby or I have to come back down to AZ one more time to pack up whatever we don't fit into our two cars when we go up to UT on Tues - gotta love moving and all that jazz .That's pretty much what's up with me right now so I haven't gotten much in the way of cards/packages because I told everyone to send them to my parents so I'll probably find stuff when we get up there next week. It's been snowing and pretty cold down here for AZ this past week and Hubby's mom wants to go visit family, but is having to wait and may not be able to go cause of the weird weather/snow going on down here. So, yadda yadda, that's my life in a nutshell for now lol .

Hi all,
I can't believe Christmas is next week! eeek!!! It's snowing in Seattle today! home with the kiddos and will venture out to play soon. This usually happens 1-2 times per winter so we pretty much stay home with an inch or 2. Can't believe AZ, Las Vegas and Malibu, CA got snow yesterday! crazy! So I have been debating internally with contacting my sister on facebook. I am pretty sure I am going to do it after the hoildays. I had the most vivid dream last night about our first f2f and it was awesome. I hardly ever remember dreams so that was pretty cool! I am nervous as she may respond negatively, not at all or bmom may freak out that I am not following her agenda. She never said not to contact anyone else. Anyway, HUGS all around!!

I have been wicked busy!!! I have a total of 6 scarves due by Tuesday. Luckily I am done with 3 1/2 of them they really shouldn't take me that long to do with the rate I have been making them.
Received some art work from Supergirl this week!!!!!!!!! I will hopefully post some pictures up on facebook or myspace this weekend, weather permitting. 1 channel is saying I am in the 3-6 in. snow belt for a storm coming thru tomorrow into Saturday but I just watched another channel and I am in the 6-9 in. belt. Gotta love it LOL then there is another storm Sunday into Monday and then ANOTHER one Wednesday (glad I don't have to work that day) Told L that Supergirl will be getting her presents after the holiday, finances wouldn't allow any other way and I told my friends that as well. Hopefully the weather will be fine Saturday night as I am having a girls night with my friend C and T, it is much needed on all sides as C has had to use a back up babysitter because of the ice storm that came through last week. I still have 2 coworkers without power and a number of schools have just decided to close school until after the New Year. Oh well, life in a New England state. LOL

I sent my first email to my daughter 11/12, and sent a second one 4 days ago. My second one only said I wish I had requested in my first email that she respond if only to let me know she had received the emails. I have had no response. Now that it's close to Christmas I am wanting to send another one to wish her a Merry Christmas, but I won't as I want to respect her privacy (if this is what she wishes from me).
The hard thing is that I am beginning to wonder if she is receiving the emails I sent. If she is then she is not wanting contact at this time. If she's not then I feel compelled to find another avenue of contact. I know this is a very emotional issue as all of you know yourselves. And if she has received my emails it is possible she is needing time to sort through this. I have been reading the book "The Girls Who Were Sent Away." I thought the stories would be a "surprise" to me, but they're not. That is exactly how it was dealt with in my time (1970). I just needed to write these thoughts down. I hope all of you are in the midst of the holiday spirit and enjoying yourselves. Happy Holidays to all of you. Hum ![]() |

It took my son over a month to respond, but I was in contact with his parents so I knew he had the info and his dad kept assuring me that he would be contacting me.
May you have the gift of waiting patiently!

Hi Kakuehl - Thank you for your post. It is hard but I will continue to wait...
She is probably busy with holiday season. I was told by a search person the professional bio of my daughter (although I've never seen it in writing myself), and I was told she is a social worker and is also currently attending law school in Chicago. They may be taking finals this time of semester, or just finishing with them. Anyway, I'll wait. I saw a different post which recommended that "while we wait" we can spend time putting together pictures of family or get info about birth dad which our children would want. Enough about me - How is your moving/packing going??? Are you moving a great distance from where you are now??? Hope things are going well and that you're not needing to overextend yourself. You are a very special person, Kathy. Merry Christmas Hum ![]() |

Hi Hum,
You might try gathering together family stories as well. My family has stories like when they came to this country, who fought on which side of the civil war, etc. Stories like my grandmother sending us out with fly swatters to kill flies when she was making shoofly pie... My move is proceeding. We're busy packing. I'm still not sure when the actual move will be. I finish here next Sunday and lead my first service the following Saturday at the place. The distance is about 160 miles. My life is basically confusion right now! I'm glad I don't have to plan a meal for Christmas; we're invited to D's.
