Heidi, I have a question for you. As EVERYBODY knows, I'm on the brink of getting an email addy for my DD. I've written a rough draft of my first letter to her, which I'll probably re-write a dozen times before I actually hit the "send" button . So, my question is, how do I sign it? I wrote the rough draft when I thought it was going to be anonymous contact, so I just put "Me." Do I sign it "Love, Amy" or what? Do I leave the "Love" out of it for now? The only thing I'm sure of is that I'm not going to sign it "Mom". That never even crossed my mind. She has a Mom, and I don't want to take her place. I just want to know my DD.

Any and all advice from anybody welcome!! (oh, and chocolate, lots of chocolate, I'm climbing the walls again!!)

Roni, I was in Texas last weekend, and I about felt like a drowned rat by the time I left. What's up with that? I was looking forward to hot temps and high humidity, not constant showers!

Heidi, you've got back-up here in Nebraska too!

My goodness! It has been raining off an on for the last three weeks!! Yesterday afternoon the sun was out...I almost forgot what it was like to have the sun shining on me!! DD was itching to get outside so DH walked the dogs while she rode her scooter. She wiped out on a mud puddle and broke her left wrist last night!! Poor kid! Summer just started and she leaves for a "Me & Grandma" Camp tomorrow!! She should be getting her cast on today. So, because of this rain my daughter has a broken wrist!!

I have M&M's if anyone want some!!

Leigh - How about some sweet tea? That sounds good right about now.

Cool running into that guy Leigh! I hope he's a nice guy =)

Heidi: I remember last summer too, and I really really hope that DS's b-mom has done a lot of soul searching and is just being a bit insensitive. If not, I'm not far from PA either, and I'm part Italian

OK so while I am NOT going to Vegas with TG (tho I wish I was!) I have plans to meet my high school friend for Starbucks on Fiday, doing wedding related activities on Sat, and was HOPING to hit the beach on Sun, but now I hear there might be t-storms , so maybe I'll just head over to my future SIL's pool

Have you had the new dark chocolate M&M's roni?

I wish you were coming to Vegas with me too Brown (and roni and leigh and amy and....oh all of you!)

Tell you what, give me your Roulette numbers ladies! I will place a bet for each of you!!! If we win big, like hugely ridiculously impossibly big, I fly you all out to vegas some weekend! (Dreams are nice, huh? haha)

But seriously! Give me your numbers and I'll let you know how it goes!

He is. We can easily talk during my lunch break and we are both laughing.
I will take anything right now. Luckily it stands that Grams will be discharged Saturday so tomorrow after I see her I am going to see a friend, who works at a liquor store and get me something for Saturday night. So it will be Chinese Food and a bottle of wine.
Roni, sorry to hear about DD.
Oh and T, have fun. I am planning on going next year with some friends. But my numbers are 27 & 17

TG: 13 and 25. All the way!!!

So maybe my patience friends can hand me a shot, cause I need one. With the help of some advice from my forum friends, I had made a decision that if DD's a mom did not feel the need to set boundaries, I would. So I decided to write her every three months, which coincides with DD's b day and x-mas. So based on that, I would write again at the end of the month. But I'm feeling the itch to write now, rather than wait the four weeks. Part of me says that "I'm only cheating myself" if I don't stick to my plan (I have no willpower, LOL) and on the other hand, I think "hey, SHE never said not to write, YOU did! If you want to write, write!" I also know that I kind of feel a bit sad that it's been two months and she hasn't written on her own. (It's usually about 6-8 weeks or so that I write anyway, up from 3 in the beginning!)

Really, what's the point when I will write, and get a response and then write back and nothing? I'm doing it for DD tho, so I have to keep my head up and stick with it or the adoption will close again, and I don't want that.

So do I write now, or write later?

Brown, 13 is already one of my numbers, so I'll split it with you

13, 25, 27, and 17
They all sound like winners to me! (I like odd numbers myself...hmmm, me? odd? NO! haha )

The way I write letters, if I started one today, it probably wouldn't be ready for four weeks anyway! But hey, maybe that's just me. I write almost every day for DD in a journal I keep at work, so that (a) kills time during my work day and (b) helps me get some of the need to write out. I want to write all the time, but have to hold myself back, even though A's mom said she appreciated the letters and it helped her to see who I was.

I got frustrated at sending letters with no response for six months, but it's okay. Because like you said, someday A will know I was sending letters this whole time, that I kept on trying and included them in my life this way. (Although getting responses all the time would rock!)
