Susan,
I surrendered my daughter on July 10, 1968. She was born on June 4, 1968. The adoption was handled by Catholic Charities - Cleveland. I had not support from my family and was abandoned by the father. He was a Marine and went to Viet Nam. I have always loved him and my daughter. I need help in trying to locate my daughter. If there is anything you can help with me I would be forever grateful. Thank you for your time. Regards, Linda |

need help finding my daughter
I have posted on these different forums many times. I still have not heard anything. I know that I will someday see her, well I feel that I will someday see her. I know that this is her decision, but it doesn't hurt to look for her. I have tried many things to look for her. I am on a reunion register for my state of South Carolina. I have received the 7 pages of nonidentifying information. I also received 4 pictures of her sometime before she was placed in her aparents home. I was 15 when I gave her up for adoption. My parents arranged everything. I really didn't know what was going on. This adoption was closed, but I didn't know the difference, until I started going out to search for her in 1995 when she turned 18. I am on several reunion registers on the internet also. Susan, if there is anything you can do to help me with my search, I would appreciate your posting in this forum for me to have access to. When she left the hospital in Laurens, South Carolina, they had her listed as baby girl Penland. The only way I knew this was when I went back for my 6 weeks check-up, I looked at the files when the doctor left the room for a few minutes. I never was even told what I had. I have lived with this for almost 26 years. She will have a birthday on July17,2003. I have 2 other children by the same man. Another daughter that will be 23 this year, and a son that will be 20 this year. I have a 3 year old grandson from my daughter, and I have a granddaughter on the way in April from my son. I would love to know, if I have anymore grandchildren to enjoy. It would be the greatest thing for me to find my daughter. My other 2 children also want to find their sister. If you can help in any way, please let me know.
Kindest regards, sherri ![]() |

Looking for my daughter
Can anyone help me? I gave up my daughter many years ago. She was born in June 1st or 2nd 1970 at St. Anthony's Hosiptal In Denver, Colorado. Baby Girl Franklin, they never let me see her but the nurse came in and said she had beautiful red hair.
I had no choice at the age I was. I would like to find her, to let her know and to meet her. For her to have a chance to meet her other brother and sister. For her and I to hopefully get to know her and her children if she has any. Who do I talk to? Everyone I have talk to in the past always wanted money money. Where do I go from here? |

Susan,
How do yu go about searching for a child placed for adoption? I placed my child in 1985 so she will be 18 this year. I don't even know where to start and I don't have a lot of $ for private searches and so on. It was a closed adoption in Arizona.... ![]() |

Ctaholic Charities
Hi Susan,
In April of 1985 my daughter was placed with her parents. I was lucky, as to the point of being allowed to choose who she went to, however, now I have NO idea on how to track any information. I have posted many listings, and have only one woman that contacted me 3 days ago that keeps my spirits up. I may be wrong saying that my birth child is my daughter, but I did give her life. I know that her parents gave her a home, love and a everything that I couldn't, but I wish that birthmom didn't have such a stigma. I just wish there was somewhere that I could REALLY begin to search for her. Thank you so much for listening, Fran

My son was born Sept. 4, 1972 I gave him up for adoption. I am hoping that he will contact me someday. I hope this is the way to do it.
Place of birth was Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. Time was approx. 6 a.m. Weight was 7lb6oz. Also he should have a dimple in his chin (like Kirk Douglas!!!) He should also have an older sister by 3yrs who was adopted. I don't want to interfere in his life, I would just like him to know that I am open for any contact. If there are other sites (free) like this someone Please tell me, and I can post this info there also. THANX ![]() Last edited by hilly4561 : 06-09-2003 at 03:22 PM. |

Texas search help
I am a birthmother who placed my child in 1990 in Texas. I recently searched for and found my son and his a-parents, and am now in contact with them. I came across some valuable search resources in the course of my own search, and would be glad to assist other Texas birthmothers in searching for their children (free of charge, of course). Unfortunately I can only help if the adoption took place in Texas. I wish you all the best of luck in your searches, and if I can be of assistance to any of you, please p.m me or e-mail me at chorizocat@hotmail.com
Sincerely, ~Sharon |
