looking for my bmom

Hi, I was born on 5/3/86 in columbus, ohio. I can't remember if it was at Mount Carmel or Riverside. I'm female and my adoptive mom told me that my birthmother's name is Trina.

Could someone please help?

Thesearchguru has posted helpful information for searching in each state. Here's the search resources for Ohio. Best of Luck to you!

Ohio Searching Resources
WELCOME TO THE SEARCH AND REUNION MESSAGE BOARD!

If you know what adoption agency handled your adoption contact them for information from your adoption file that will help you with your search. If you were a private adoption or do not know the name of the adoption agency contact this office:

Ohio Department of Job and Family Services
Office for Children and Families
255 East Main Street, 3rd Floor
Columbus, OH 43215
(614) 466-9274
Fax: (614) 728-2604
World Wide Web: http://www.state.oh.us/odjfs
E-mail: Browdr@odjfs.state.oh.us

INFORMATION THAT IS AVAILABLE IN YOUR STATE:

“Non-identifying information” for adoptees and adoptive parents is information from your adoption file about your birth parents. It generally includes ages, marital status, states of birth, education, religion, occupations and a physical description of your birth parents. It should also include the reason for relinquishment and may include information about your aunts, uncles and grandparents. It is called “non-identifying information” because it does not include any identifying information such as names, addresses or social security numbers. If you already have your non-identifying information but it is information given to your adoptive parents at the time of your adoption you should re-apply for the non-identifying information. Agencies are giving out much more comprehensive information now that they did in the past.

“Mutual Consent Registry” is a registry where adoptees and birth parents can register the adoption information. If both parties register normally the agency responsible for the registry will notify both parties that consent has been given to contact each other. To register contact this office:

Ohio Adoption Registry
Ohio Department of Health - Vital Statistics
PO Box 15098, 35 East Chestnut Street
Columbus, OH 43215-0098
(614) 644-5635

NOTE: Adoptees whose adoptions were finalized prior to 1/1/1964 can have access to their original birth certificates. Contact the Bureau of Vital Statistics.

WARNING: Many adoptees and birth parents in Ohio have reported that Ohio changed dates of birth on the amended birth certificate so that it does not reflect the actual date of birth on the original birth certificate.

Many blessings on your search journey,
