Isn't this (Saturday May 9th 2009) First Mother's Day?

I didn't like the sound of this being the day right before regular mother's day when I first heard about it but the more I've thought about it the more I like the idea because it means that that woman who raised my daughter doesn't get to have TWO mother's days (at least not because of my daughter anyway) but I do!

I have no idea if adoptive moms have their own day like we as first mothers do but for now it makes me happy knowing the woman who raised my daughter and did all those horrible things and has continued to do horrible things isn't getting this day to call hers and doesn't get an ENTIRE weekend of Mother's Day!

No one celebrates First Mother's Day with me but in my heart today I accept this being FIRST mother's day and not the regular "mother's day" that I will celebrate with my other children tomorrow. I LoooooovE it.

So, to all you who are FIRST mother's, HAPPY FIRST MOTHER'S DAY!

Thank you Rylee! Today is, indeed, First Mother's Day and while I'm not doing anything in particular today (I do have a brunch to attend next Saturday in honor of birth/first mothers), I appreciate the well wishes.

I don't "celebrate" it as much as I remember it. It is the day I use to remember the hard stuff and honor myself and other moms who have lived through it.

Yes the Saturday before Mother's Day is Birth/First Mother's Day. I do not celebrate Birthmother's day but do acknowledge it as I do not believe it's a day of celebration.
