*throwing rose water and witch hazel on dpen*

Y'all need to stop scaring me for the 50's people. The 50's is supposed to be the new 40 and since I'm turing 40 next year, I'll really be just 30. Right?? RIGHT???

Yes, absolutely.

Paige- you fell down an escalator that was going up? That's sounds painful, and yes that would have taken a while to get to the bottom! Yikes!

Orthopedic surgery...poor Kathy! And poor DH now stuck with the puppy rearing alone...

Thank you for relaying the information Janey! You're a good friend!

I hope the surgery went ok. Poor Kathy!

I don't want to be in my 20's again, or 30 again! I kinda like 42! Although I can see the difference between me and my friends with kids the same age, but are 10 years younger (the friends) they get off the floor much faster than I can! Yikes.

I am also accident prone, I don't need to know that it gets worse in my 50's! Although maybe I'll FINALLY outgrow feeling motion sick (like my mom told me I would 30 years ago??).

GET BETTER SOON KATHY!!

Talking

Hey everyone!!!

I will make sure I read all your posts to Kathy when I call her. I think that would really lift her spirits!

Uhmmmm...on turning 50........that's cool ya know!! Except for the fact that guys no longer look at me at traffic lights..........sigh........but I'm still not bad I guess for a chick my age.

I'm planning a big shindig at one of the Metro Parks for my BDay.......just hanging with my entire family....all my nieces and nephews and playing baseball and firing up the grill and having ribs and mom's famous homemade potato salad. They also have canoe rentals and hiking.

You're all invited if you want to come!!

I hope that if I live to be a 100 my grandkids & greatgrandkids can say, "Man! Granny's looking for someone to push her wheelchair at the muscle car show again this year! Who's going to volunteer to be this year's victim?!"

LOL!

Life is grand and best served with lots of love and a side of hot fudge cream puffs with extra whip cream!!!!

Love you guys!

Janey, I'll come to your party and make sure no one brings in a beet salad!

Tell Kathy that we're all thinking of her...

I'm 42 and I am with Q--I don't want to relive any of it. I am happy where I am.

I didn't tell you all this, but I fell in the shower a month ago and since I still have a 5 yo, Darth vader(hard plastic toy) was sitting on the side of the tub, his light saber stabbed me in the arm and there was blood every where. I did not know where it came from. I thought it was my leg, but no, I had a three inch stab wound above my elbow. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to get up, because I twisted my knee. The only thing I could think is--I need to drag myself into my room and get some clothes. I refuse to have to be taken out NAKED!!!!.. Luckily I was able to get up and walk.
Although, if I ever come up missing, my DH will be going to jail. There was blood in the bathroom, in the hallway and in the bedroom. We cleaned it, but they say the black light stuff they use can still find it.

My arm is healed and my knee is better.

I can relate to the tub/toy business.

I'm glad your feeling better...

Bit of advice...next time, use the force!

(((Stacy))) I figured I'd let you tell the "tub story" at your own pace!! LOL!! Somehow it didn't seem right to annouce that you'd been stabbed by Darth Vadar!!

Really though.....you guys!!!! Enough with the tripping and getting hurt now already!!!

(Of course someone who's been hit 17 times by other vehicles has NO room to talk!) LOL!

Lovemy2Boys You're welcome at my table anytime!!! Even if you do bring beet salad! And that's saying something!!!

May The Force be with us all!

yum POTATO SALAD! I'm there.

Stacy, I'm really sorry about your injury but it also made me really laugh.
I've not been stabbed by a Bratz doll yet...

Stacy, I cannot believe you've joined the Tumble Club here, lol. Stabbed by Darth Vader?? I think I've just about heard it all now. Seriously, we've got to stop having accidents, ladies. People on the forums will start talking, you know...about clumsy birthmothers. They'll probably assume we've been passing around the pipe...

Janey, I want to come to your birthday party -- it sounds like a blast. And I want to try your mom's famous potato salad! I might have to sneak in my pickled beets, however.

I had a baby bear on my front porch last night. He was so cute, but I chased him away. I could tell he didn't understand why I was being so mean. The mama bear had to have been close by...I'm glad she didn't come after me. If any of you ever come face-to-face with a mama bear and her cubs, be really careful and start praying -- the mama bears are really aggressive and would just as soon tear your head off if they think their babies are in danger. Sigh... I enjoy seeing bears at the zoo or from a distance, not on my porch.

Crick, if its any help I didn't find my forties all that much differnt then my 30's. Turning 50 was/is scary......

Janey...if you saw me you would't think I was 32...LOL....(maybe 42 though ). I missed how old you are turning....its not the big 50 is it?

Surgery should be over for Kathy...hope all is well and take those pain meds! Sleep!!! (don't forget stool softners though...pain meds can reek havoc...especially when over 50!)

Does anyone have a pet peeve when elders are referred as being
5o or over". I have been on a few job interviews and I have heard that. I just look at them like they are nuts...I may feel older but NOT...I say...NOT elderly...could that be denial?...naw......
