I saw my son graduate
I just had to post all my excitement. In fact, I am doing a crappy job at typing, I am still so excited.
Last night I saw my bson graduate from High School. He and I have met and are slowly working into reunion. A few weeks (or months) ago, I decided I could not miss anything else in his life. I asked my 2 lifetime best friends to go with me. (My hubby helped on this end with our 3 small kids). We planned on staying in some remote seats and making no fuss. That is pretty much exactly what we did. We went in just after it had started, found seats out of the way, and watched the graduation. It was so great. It was so great to see him on that day. The only thing that stunk was the flood of emotions over this whole family thing. My story is that he was adopted by my dad's relatives who could not have children (although they did go on to have 1). So last night, I see my cousins and aunt who are his parents, aunts and uncles and grandma. Of course, I see them all from a distance and cannot talk to any of them. Nice huh! That was hard too - just all the emotion of dividing the family in half was fine for them as long as they got a child. I felt very used. My friends commented that I actually would have been treated better by strangers than my own family - and they are right. My friends and I had a great time reminiscing about all the years. It was a good trip, and I got to see my son graduate. Before we went, I UPS'd a graduation gift to him. I sent him a digital camera with printer and the book "Oh the Places You'll Go". He should get it Tuesday. I hope he likes it and is glad I sent it. I was glad that he did not have a camera yesterday, so I am guessing he does not have one. ![]() |

WOW! I'm glad you got to go to his graduation. It must have been hard not to congratulate him.
Wish I could have been there for my dd's milestones too. Found |
