I agree with the rest, mail it snail mail. If she opens her other accounts in front of anyone or at work it may make her really uncomfortable. At least if she receives it at home she can open it in privacy.

Great letter!! But just to be contrarian here... I like the idea of delivering it in a way that you are absolutely positive it goes to the right person. Having just contacted my son and not hearing back, the one thing that has been a comfort to me is knowing that HE and only HE got the letter, opened it and read it.

It wasn't delivered to an old address...
No one intercepted the letter and hid it from him...
It wasn't lost in the mail...
It didn't get thrown out b/c it was wrapped up in junk mail...
Etc, etc, etc ....

Because I went through a MySpace account, I am 99.9% sure it was him who opened and read my letter... So I like the Internet for those reasons. One less thing I’ve had to worry about... I suppose that registered mail will take care of those worries but I know of a recent incident where someone sent something registered and a relative picked up the letter - not the intended recipient. So still not my favorite way to go.

Thanks OCEAN, your point is valid, in fact I think Facebook is more "private" than myspace, plus she'd be the only one to open her account and check those emails, if it was to a yahoo email, chances are that she has it set so she doesn't have to log in. I have had some difficulty getting a verified address, there is the wait, a phone call is out of the question, I could be sneaky, but I don't like that...I have been too sneaky in getting the info that I have. I could call a distant friend but i don't want to involve too many in this.
I am further convinced that every action we do happens for a reason, so if this all goes to hell, then thats the way it is supposed to be. I am confident that there will be a happy outcome to this, but it might not be this week, year, lifetime. I am happy enough to know that she is in a good home, family, and can live her life as anyone could dream.

I went on Facebook today and my daughters mother has changed her profile picture (thats all I can see on FB without adding her as a friend) to a closeup of her and may daughter, So i can only assume she has read the letter, and hope that the picture change was for me.!!!
Sitting on the edge of my chair. I don't want to go to work, do chores, andything but talk to them! Killing me, in a nice way! I have all the best hopes. (i don't know why I posted a gnome, but he was cute)

GOOD NEWS!
I finally recieved a responce to the letter I sent. My daughters mother was VERY understanding and shared the letter with my daughter. She went on to describe my daughter and included that she is deathly sarcastic and bull headed, which describes some of my traits for good or worse. I am so happy right now. My daughter is 15 now, so it is a bit overwhelming to her and now I wait, again. This time, however, it is with much more hope and peace.

I am sorry it took some time to respond, but I was a shocked to hear from you. I have always understood why you handled things the way you did and have forgiven you. I truly appreciate everything you said and am thankful to know that you have been thinking about K. She is a beautiful girl and I am so blessed to know her. She is incredibly smart, has the quickest and the MOST sarcastic sense of humor. She is caring and loving and very bull headed, but I love that about her. There is so much to love about her. I did pass on your message to her and as you would expect, she was very overwhelmed. I think she was relieved to know that you have thought about her and regret the way you handled things but will need time to process all of this. This is a very difficult time for her going through adolescence and trying to figure out her own identity. I hope you can respect how difficult this is for her and at what an already complicated time in her life. K knows that you have made yourself available if she would have questions or would want to contact you, but please for now just give her time. It was really good to hear from you and again thank you for all that you said.
