I can't believe how time flies... Thank you!
Today is the one year anniversary for my reunion with my 18 year old daughter. It has been so completely amazing, scary, painful, exhilarating, happy, sad and healing.
I really want to thank everyone on this forum for sharing, supporting, offering alternative ways of looking at situations and for their love. I found this forum and all of you just before I met my daughter and I am certain that you all saved me from making terrible mistakes and gave me wonderful ideas and when I couldn't stand the pain, you lifted me up. When I couldn't wait to share, you celebrated with me. I thank you all for that... from the bottom of my heart! I do not know a single person on this thread and yet I know so many of you. Thank you! In the past year I met my daughter for the first time since I gave birth to her. I met her AMom again after 17 years and her brother for the first time. (Her ADad passed a few years ago). She came and stayed with me and my Partner for a week (the best week of my life)! I attended her HS graduation and saw where she grew up, met the rest of her family, friends and her boyfriend. (Dream come true). I began a friendship with her AMom. I watched every single video ever made of her since she was born. I got to meet her Grandmother. I saw where she worked and went to school. My Partner and I traveled with her and her boyfriend. We have shared sushi and stories, our similarities and commitment to our ongoing relationship. And now I have seen her through her first week of college and her first job outside of her AMom's business. I made it through all of this because I love her, I am proud of her, I am committed to her and because of all of you. The success of our relationship is a tribute to God, My daughter, her AMom, me, my partner and in no small part... all of you. And even though 'thank you' seems so small in comparison to the gift you all gave me... please accept it in the enormity that it is intended. I couldn't have done it with out you! Love to each and every person in the triangle... what ever your story, opinion and situation... thank you! Love and Peace! Kim Last edited by mtlover : 08-21-2005 at 11:14 AM. |
