Looking for help for a birthmom in FL

I am a recent adoptive mom of six months with an open adoption - meaning we speak on the phone monthly, send pictures and letters monthly. The birthmom of my two sons has been very depressed lately and I am looking for a support group in her area which is Largo/St. Petersburg, Florida. Any information would be very helpful. She does not have internet access so unfortunately cannot take advantage of these resources. Thanks - Tracy

If your adoption will eventualy include visits, she might like to come to the Lifegiver's Festival. This is a conference for birthparents in open adoptions only. For more information e-mail me privately at brenr@r2press.com
How about private counseling? Many county mental health facilities offer it on a sliding scale. I am also coming out with a couple of pocket guides that may be helpful to her. On is on birthparent grief, the other is on the role of birthparents in open adoption. They are not on the web site yet, but you can e-mail me for more info. Sorry I don't have more to offer her.
