Easter Stories

Anyone else have any Easter stories to share? I had a good day on Saturday: all my children (birth and raised) were here with there familes. We celebrated AJ's birthday and had an egg hunt for the litle ones. It was fun to watch the 16th month old when he discovered an egg. They also colored eggs.

Hey Kathy! :-)

Love the pics! AJ looks so happy with his cake!! :-)

The only Easter story I can think of is how all my siblings would run to my Easter basket, thrust their hands out and wait with big eyes for me to divvy out the hideous jelly beans from my basket!! Jelly beans....bet you guys weren't aware that Jelly beans in Latin means GROSSE!!!

I would like to know what evil creature invented them. They are almost as bad as those awful Twizzler licorice stick thingys!! Ick!

Anyhoo....my siblings being of not-so-sound-mind would gobble up my jelly beans like they were candy (LOL!) My brothers could always be counted on to come to blows over who got the blue ones!! Good grief!!

Hugs to ya!

Must be the same person who invented the beet!!

My little one wanted some eggs with the potato salad in it. (Deviled eggs)

My 11 yo was in tears on Easter night because he did not want to grow up.

Poor child; what happens when he "grows up?"

Awwww, Stacy how cute that he said this! Bless his little heart!!!

He's probably thinking he's getting too big for Easter baskets!

Sigh....it's funny isn't it? When my daughters have said stuff like this, there's this part of me that cries inside. I didn't want them to grow up either. Sometimes I wanted to wave a magic wand and keep them little because they're so precious.

Then I realize they're precious everyday!

LOL! Then my grandson comes over and throws forks at the dog and I realize....."weeelllll maaayyybbeee growing up is a good thing!"

Love the deviled egg story too!

Kathy How did the visit with Quantum go? I am jealous!!! Tell us all details. Inquiring minds want to know!

When we showed up at my parents house, over a week before Easter, they had some plastic eggs out already, anticipating the egg hunt. My 4 year old proceeded to hide them herself!

The night before, my dad and I filled the eggs with quarters and hid them around the living room, one is still hidden (we couldn't find them). They picked up my niece at around 7:30 so she could be in on the egg hunt.
We'd also colored eggs on Friday. At one point in time someone suggested we make eggs as namecards. I managed to make my dad one that was the ugliest color we'd ever seen. It had been a cool golden color at one point but I couldn't help myself, kept going with the dye. Oh well.
It was a pretty good day all in all.

A story from years ago, my brother found my basket first, it had been in an East facing window and my chocolate bunny had melted, he swapped them! He's done one nice thing I guess. :-)

Years later, my parents hid plastic eggs with dollar bills around the yard. My brother was teasing me because he'd found more, I said 'oh well, that's ok, one of mine had a 10 dollar bill in it' The LOOK on my parents face! They wondered which one of them had messed up LOL.

Our visit with Kathy was all too short unfortunately... :-(
