For fun: What would your dream job be?

My ideal job would be working with animals as I love any type of animal. Not so good with birds but I do tolerate them. What's your dream job?

Editor, of course!

I would love to be an editor, as I am a HUGE bookworm! I devour literature (both fiction and non) like a parched person drinking water. My librarian and I are on first name basis, I'm there so much! I hope to encourage a love of reading in my future children, too, as it has always served me well in school and career.

My dream job would be, well, I have more than one dream job so my dream jobs would be:

a) Dolphin trainer - I would love to work with dolphins if I could overcome some fears of mine with deep ocean etc.

b) Lighthouse Operator - I don't know that people really do this job much anymore, but I'd have loved to have lived and worked in a lighthouse by the sea.

c) Famous Writer - I am a writer and trying to become a published writer - just takes time and so forth.

d) Counselor - I'm in the process of studying to be one .

So two of my dream jobs or occupations probably won't every happen, but two of them will and I'm working on fulfilling my dream to have those two occupations of writer and counselor while I keep lighthouses and dolphins in my dreams .

My dream job would be as a stand up comedian. I can see myself being a female Richard Pryor type... Colorful language and all! When I was a teenager, to 'escape' my dysfunctional family, I would go up in my room and do stand up comedy. Had a whole routine down pat... Original stuff...my friends thought I was funny...maybe they were just high or something, it was the 70's, after all! Tammi

Pip, I used to work with pigs. I enjoyed it even though it was alot of hard work. We bred the older ones and raised the piglets until they were old enough to send out to be slautered. We even bred some of our own pigs that we had raised from birth.

I thought, a first, after working with the pigs that I wanted to be an veternian assistant. I was half way through the course and decided it wasn't what I wanted.

I missed working with the public and that was one of the many reasons I quit after 7 years working on the farm.

I love to work around people, I am a people person. I thought about being a CNA. But has yet to go take the course on it. (still debating) I loved working retail. I have worked at Wal-mart, ShopKo and Dollar tree. Between ShopKo and Wal-mart, I would work for ShopKo before Wal-mart any day, cuz I like the management team at ShopKo more than Wal-mart.

Any job that I didn't have to sit behind a desk and I was able to work with the public would be my dream job.

Judy

Wildlife photographer for National Geographic or other famous publication which would enable me to travel to exotic locations.

AND my birthdaughter has inherited my talent and interest in photography/love of animals as well. She wants to be an Equine Photographer, but she is in the process of obtaining a college degree as backup.

Well I love my job as a hospice RN but I have always wanted to be a professional singer. I was actually going to take a performance arts degree but was scared.

What was I saying that my dream job would be working with animals ? Last night I went through the usual performance of Chyna (rottie snoring loudly) and having "happy dreams" so her hind legs were going 19 to the dozen into my stomach. Bouncer (bearded collie x) as usual got up on the bed to slobber over me...oh how I hate dog breath . Bruno (lurcher x) did the ritual jumping over me, taking ten minutes to settle so I had to suffer his bum by my nose. Charlie the cat did her long suffering bit with the dogs before settling by my head . As for dh he was tormenting as usual knowing that I was tired...not that I'm referring to him as an animal . Ah better stop now before I dig myself into a deep, deep hole...LOL !!!!

I was lucky enough to find my dream job, although a little later than I would have hoped. After working for a dozen years behind a desk, I was hired as a full time firefighter. I will no doubt retire from my present position.

I always wanted to be a doctor, I wanted to help people. Too late now. Maybe in the next life.

Montraviatommyg - loved your description of bedtime!

It's fun reading what people's dream jobs would be!

ok..hmmm...well, since I've already gutted dead chickens professionally, that's out...

so next, in alphabetical order

would be a forensic pathologist - figuring out the angle of the bullet <grin> but this would be very stinky

OR

forensic psychiatrist - figuring out what makes serial killers tick - would probably make me toss my cookies

OR

don't know what it's called but the person who restores pieces for museums - museum piece restorererer? co-workers would probably be as lively as the ones I work on in first job

OR

FBI profiler - I'm almost 50 and this would take a bazillion years in school, even with a headstart bachelor's

OR

proofreader/editor - don't see any negatives here...I'll take it! whew! Nice to have that taken care of!

When I was young I wanted to be a plastic surgeon who only worked on people who were disfigured, creative work with a purpose. However I was afraid of math. By the time I learned the secret to working math (my late 30's) my life was in full gear and I didn't even think about it any more.

At this point I'd like to build a health-food snack bar / water equiptment rental shop on a beach in Mexico. I'd wear A-shirts and shorts every day and play what ever music I was in the mood for. My coustomer's would all be happy because they were on vacation. When I had no customers I'd lay in my hammock or turn things over to dh and go for a swim.

I hope someday to do this.

I know this might sound silly, but...going with couples to help them pick out their wedding sets.

I remember all too well. I am a jewelry junkie anyway. I have a passion for diamonds. Since I can't buy a whole bunch of my own, I'd love to help others out finding bargains and helping them learn about grading etc..

Didn't say this job nessisarily exsisted, but it would be fun to get paid for that.
