Question My Story

I gave up 2 children for adoption one in 1982 and the other in 1983. I totally agree that birthmothers have kept silent in our society, for whatever reasons. I kept silent out of fear that people would think I'm a horrible woman who just could'nt be bothered to raise her kids. And for the most part all the birthmothers I've met, this could'nt be further from the truth. We love our children totally, and make the most unselfish decision to relinquish our children. We then go on to suffer in silence through lifeand pray to God that our children are okay and are having a wonderful life. Everyday wondering how they are and if you made the right decision. The time for this suffering should end, and we should be able to carry our heads high knowing we did what was best for our children but, alas society is not ready for this and unfortunatly bmoms still suffer. Someday I hope the time will come when the secrecy ends and we can all come together for the children and the greater good. I have recenly reunited with my 2 children and things are progressing and it will all end in a happy way. I could'nt have done any of this without the love and support from the friends here thank you all so much. My love to you all

thank you

i would just like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for choosing adoption over the other routes you could of taken.I am an adoptive mother and without mothers such as yourself, i would of never been able to become a mother. I agree society is cruel and people make stupid assumptions daily, especially about adoption....I toally agree you have the right to carry on in a positive manner in your life (without the crap of society) and deserve way way more than ever could be offered! again, thank you sooooo muuuuchhhh!
