Unhappy i need a catholic pov

hello there,

i am a wiccan, i hope this doesn't offend anyone, but i have had holy water thrown in my face before, so i hope i meet with no prejudice here.

i am just desperate to know the catholic point of view of adoption, as half of my family is catholic and pretty much hate me for denying them a new baby to coo over. they seem to be resorting to doctorine to argue their case, and i have been told i will go to nasty burny places and have little devils sticking things in me for all eternity.

this has been bugging me for a while, but i lost my job last week and have been thinking and thinking about it.

please hear me - jesus was a great guy and i have the utmost respect for him - i am not the kind of person who belittles someone because of their religion as i feel we are all worshiping the same thing but we call it by different names. which is cool. i just need to sort out the whole holier than thou trip i am being subjected to..

peace and love to all of you.

Sometimes people who claim to be Catholics are really wolves in sheep's clothing. So to answer your question about adoption, there is nothing in the Roman Catholic Doctrine that degrades or talks down about adopting or being adopted. Some people read the doctrine and read the Bible dfferently and sometimes to make up they're own understanding of it. Trust me, I'm adopted, and I haven't burnt in hell yet sister......I am a God fearing, church loving individual who is truly blessed to have been adopted, and I have learned to listen with a grain of salt to some who don't agree with me....don't let anyone try to control you or make you feel bad about your life or your choice to adopt.....Brenda

I was raised catholic andthe catholic church promotes adoption.

The issue with hell(according to the catholic religion) has to do with wether you believe Jesus saved you or not and has nothing to do with adoption.

Hope that helps answer your question.

First and foremost- I commend you on your strength in the face of such adversity -from no less then your own family.

I have know a few wicca/catholic's those who believe with all their hearts in the salvation of Jesus Christ and follow the ancient faith of wicca and mother earth.

My faith is an oddity in my family- You see both my parents were raised Assemblies of God- both fell away from the church right after leaving their parents homes( my moms parents not religious)
(my dads mom very religious/dad not until his last days)

I was 17 before I attended church regularly- Assemblies of God I taught Sunday school and was very very active in the church for years. Due to the rather complete closed mindedness of those in the church I found myself questioning weather or not I belong there - If maybe God had a better place for me to worship.
And yep according to all I heard you are headed straight to hell!

Last I knew God is merciful- You might check with Him on weather or not He sends all wicca to hell.
Wellllll Now! I am a convert- I became catholic 2 years ago next Sunday.

I chose to go back in history and study the beginings of the church- The church Jesus sent Peter to lead to be "The Rock" on which the Christian church was found. The ancient peoples used many ways to worship-wicca being one incorporated with Christianity over time- of course the church being what it was and can be - the docturin was changed corrupted and realigned again and again.
Being for Christ but found of man the church is ever challenging.
The incooperations of other faiths-wicca-celts-norseman- overtime the ancient ways fell away and became frowned upon and Unchristian.
Loving the earth and giving it the respect it is due to preserve it for the future and using it as God intended is not sacreligious.
That being said.. If God is taken from the earth then the earth is no more. For the earth mother is the creation of the Heavenly Father.

Adoption is very biblical .. Jesus himself was adopted by Joseph and all Christian are the adopted Children of God.

So that little baby will find itself part of a great denisty of people who are bound together - one world-one love-one God.

This might be a better way for them to understand you ...

Be blessed always,

DonnaLynn-Wishing to adopt.

Smile thanks for your help

thank you all for your kind words. you are all obviously true christians - people who love the idea of heaven for all rather than concerned with promoting fear of hell.

thankyou for accepting that i can believe in jesus yet follow a different religion. we are all of us following the same path, but some people call it a road or a lane.

all love and peace to you,

vixta
