I meant to mention this in my other post: Primal Wound is excellent in giving everyone involved with adoption an idea of the trauma that has taken place, but she has a follow-up book called "Coming Home to Self: The Adopted Child Grows Up" that goes into more depth about how the brain forms connections in early years) and it offers advice about how to deal with issues that adoptees (and bmoms and aparents) can develop. Primal Wound will probably leave you feeling wounded, and Coming Home offers some relief from that (in my experience).

YES YES YES this is sooo true, Primal Wound is a hard slog! but the next book I 'enjoyed' much more and would recommend buying is as a resource book to go back to over the years.
