Tips that Work ~ or so they say!
Hello:
Did anyone see the Newscast back a couple of months ago that showed a baby doctor that was really getting him name known on the East Coast (I believe) for soothing babies??? The news said that people were coming in droves to see this doctor because he was known to sooth any crying baby. He would take a crying baby and make that baby content and show the parent his techniques. They explained the newscast made me even pay attention more to make note of something that we do with babies. The doctor had the following technique. The doctor would "sway" the baby. The movement was similar to what the baby was familiar with in the womb. The doctor would "swaddle" the baby in a blanket to make the baby feel snug/secure. The doctor would see that the baby had something to "suck" on. These were really valuable tips. I remember the tip of having the dad have some of the moms clothing to put over his shoulder if he was "doing the soothing" so the infant would smell the scent of his/her mom and feel comfort. Does anyone else have some tips that they have found that helped to sooth an infant? Thanks so much.
