Ummmm, I have not Completed the Process but...
I am a single AA female who plans on adopting an older child from the DC foster care system. My experience has been wonderful meaning there have been some bumps in the road but none due to to my single status.
Since I am trying to adopt an older child I think that the system tends to work with me. Meaning there are sooooo many older children who are being overlooked in lieu of a newborn or younger child so the foster care system is in need of people to adopt the older children. I have never ever had an issue due to my single status. It has been wonderful.
