As a former foster child I can't imagine there is a waiting list for foster parents in Florida. I have a friend in Ft Myers who was a foster parent and is still active but not a parent I could contact him and find out if he know of a waiting list. The delay could becoming because of the problems Childern sevices is having.

I agree that the wait could be due to the problems they are currently having. We are foster parents in the Daytona area (Volusia/Flaglar District) and they are crying for foster parents here! Have you called and asked about it since then? I know it took them a couple of months to get out to us to do a homestudy after we completed our classes in '98. Hang in there! We have fostered 11 kids (not at once of course and could have had more had we been willing to take them) and just this past June adopted our then 2 1/2 year old whom we had had since birth. Its a stressful way to adopt, but looking back now it was worth every bit of it for our little angel!
