Talked to CW today. I am to drop off paperwork tomorrow and pick up paperwork for homestudy tomorrow. He said to give as much information as possible and he would take what he needs to write up the homestudy. He said they lose several homes each year to adoption and the numbers are just declining. Sounds like he is going to be

As of a week ago we were being back-burnered again so they can re-approve some people who already have placements.

The email was cryptic but my guess is they were approved before the state failed the Federal audit, so there are probably a few things like different background checks that have to be done. And since they already have a placement they went ahead of us in the queue. Which is understandable but extremely frustrating as it's been almost a year since we first applied, and 6 months after we were told we'd be approved in about 2 weeks. And 5 weeks after we elevated it and were told we would for sure be approved tomorrow. Etc etc etc.

My wife and I are one step closer to being licensed. We got the call today that the background check is back. We will be scheduling our homestudy and once the social worker comes out to the house we get licensed within two weeks of that. So hopefully by the first week of April we will be licensed!

Fredalina - Congrats!

I'm sorry if this post is a duplicate. I posted it yesterday and it's not there today

We had our kiddo's interview on Friday. My son behaved himself. At the end he asked our SW how long it would take for us to get a baby. She told him she would write up our papers and get our license to us by next Friday and then the waiting game would begin.

Then we got "THE" call about 2 hour later. A set of 2 month old twin girls. We said yes, but the county ended up placing them with a different family. It was a big disappointment, but it made the whole thing feel real and exciting, and its good to know that our agency is already working hard for us.

P.S. We got our 2nd call last night. But it was for a sibling set and I know that we aren't capable or set up for those ages.

We are almost licensed

fredalina - CONGRATS!!!

We've had 3 meetings so far -- one in home visit/inspection, one office visit and one class. We've had a 10 day vacation in there and now our caseworker is going on vacation.
I got my autobiography done yesterday so all we have left (of current paperwork on hand anyway) is DH's doctor visit and his autobiography. Our fingerprints were submitted right before we left for Disney World.

Ethan's Mom...when did you guys go to Disney? We were there the first week of March so that has affected our application process time line as well. Did you guys have a good time?

Lacey - we were there 2/26-3/7!
That would be funny if we passed each other!

Ethan was usually in his yellow stroller because he has issues with crowds (sensory disorder) but here's a pic of us with The Big Cheese... (I don't get stressed about showing pictures of my family online... no FC to worry about that issue yet)
We had 3 outfits just like this set (just different fabrics) and some days we didn't match... We're goofy that way. We enjoy family dressing - but ONLY at Disney! LOL

hmmm... do they have images disabled here? Oh well - that's the link to our pic.
