I found out last week that we are officially licensed. Now just waiting for the phone to ring. We are going out of town next week so decided not to take a placement until we get back.

L&M married since 2004  BD bella 1/4/07  bio #2 due May 2010  2/09- called about foster process 2/09- first home visit 3/09 started PRIDE classes 4/09 homestudy, fingerprints, med clearance submitted 5/21/09 homestudy complete, 6/13/09 last class done..still waiting on out of state background check  7/9/09- background check in, waiting for final approval hopefully next week  7/24/09 officially approved and waiting for the phone to ring.

12/28/08 Beginning Adoption Journey  2/25/09 Started Pride Classes 4/29/09-Last Pride Class/Celebration/Certificate 5/12/09-Scheduled Home Visit from SW-but cancelled hours before the appointment 5/19/09-1st Home Visit/Home walk-thru from SW  5/28/09- 2nd Home Visit and Interview 6/26/09-Email to SW on status(Home Study approved?) Same day response saying she hasn't gotten around to writing up my Home Study yet, due to her caseload, but she hopes to get to it soon.  7/6/09-Email from SW saying she will contact me once license is almost completed  7/24/09-found out i am officially licensed!!! 8/22/09-Received my license in the mail.  Hoping to adopt 1-2 girls initially from 0-10, now 0-12(any race)

Dec 11 ~ Baby V's disposition hearing ~~~~ Lil Guy November '08 ~ meet w/ gma but don't pursue July '09 ~ contact SW but unresponsive November 5, '09 ~ meet w/ parents, want to place w/ us, GAL thinks it can work, DSS disagrees November 23, '09 ~ hearing (atty wants to work with bio mom's plan! Waiting on next step...)

We're almost finally there! We did the final review of the homestudy yesterday and she'll submit everything this week and then... away we go!
I've tried to explain to our son that we may have lots of kids come and go and we'll love them and maybe even feel sad when they go (and it's OK to cry) but that one day we'll find a little girl that will be his forever sister. I hope the foster part isn't too hard on him - or us.

Agency said we should be licensed as of last week but we havent heard anything from them.
I have a feeling its going to be a long wait.

I've posted a few times in the past year and wanted to say I finally get to join the ranks of the licensed. I got the call today that we are now open!!!
