Well, I have the stomach flu,

and I received my first call since I became licensed. I actually missed the call twice for a 2 yr old who has already been TPR'd and waiting on a relative's homestudy. CW called me twice. I called her back 30 minutes too late to tell her I was not available. lol.

Anyway, She asked me if I was open to a newborn, because Region 8 has had a large amount of newborn referrals for the past two weeks.

Sorry about the flu, but wow about newborns. I'm jealous!

Get to the doctor--they have some wonderful drugs to shorten the duration of the flu.

Wow, I'm jealous about the newborns, too! I'm really hoping for a newborn, but my chances are slim where I live. Maybe we should move LOL!! Get better soon!

Thank you ladies. I am a little better, still whoozy, finally ate something. I walked the dog and I did not realize it was so cold outside. Then I drove to the other side of town and picked up a a perfect condition changing table that a woman was giving away for free.

I had a thought...The caseworker asked SPECIFICALLY, if I was opened to baby boys...Is society so awful that people do not want newborn boys???

I am glad you are feeling better...the flu is nothing nice and living in Texas with 80 degree weather one day and 50 degrees the next, only prolongs the pain...(I am in Dallas)...

We know there are more boys in the system than girls...I was only interested in a little girl (I have 6 nephews and only 2 nieces) but I am now open to either...little girls have been deemed "easier" to raise, they have the cute little clothes, etc. so I think that is why little boys are more available....

I hope you feel better!

I got my call my my newborn fc around this time last year (actually, 11 month ago today). From one single mom to another soon-to-be one- being a mom has been the most amazing experience of my life. I love my little man more than words can express!! He has brought a whole new meaning to the words love and happiness.

Good luck to you and can't wait to here about your next call!
