First Call - Not yet Licensed

They say you can get a call if you're not yet licensed and they have a need. Tis true.

I just hung up from speaking with our placement worker who called about twin 6-yr old girls. She confirmed that our home study is still in the stack to be reviewed and the license hasn't been issued yet.

Unfortunately, I had to say "No." My heart hurts from having to say that. We're looking to foster a single child who is 0 - 5 yrs old. R is just now 7 and we'd like a little age gap there. Also, the available bedroom is only 120 sq feet and not the 125 minimum required for 2 kids. While they were willing to issue a variance to allow us to take the girls, we only have one bed and would be unable to fit a second in the room. (The room layout is weird.)

So, YAY, we got a call and BOO we had to say No.

Crossing fingers for next time...

Sorry you had to say no.

We don't have our license yet either, but we too got a cal last week. We said yes to the placement, but is one that will take a couple weeks, because they are moving from another placement.
